NOT HAPPY with Adrian Flux. Please read

Post by ryan »

As my car is due to go in for repair on monday, I needed to phone Adrian Flux to cover the courtesy car temporarily. Problem is, they want to charge me 26 quid for the privilage! I asked if there would be charges for courtesy cars when my car is in for a service and they said 'yes'. As my car is currently in for services etc around 4 times a year, I think its a bit of a cheek for them to be charging me. Previous insurers have obliged free of charge, so why are Adrian Flux charging?

Not happy at all !

Adrian Flux

I think they're brilliant! And cheapest by far.

I recently notified them (in writing) that:

I have fitted a Mongoose exhaust,
Changed my address,
Got 3 points on my licence for speeding.

I waited for 3 weeks, no reply. I phoned up to say what's going on and a nice sounding young lady told me that they've updated my file and that there is no extra charge!

In the past other insurance companies have charged me up to £50 just for changing an address (to a lower risk rated postcode).

Toyota tried this with me, I told them to bog off and they put me on the garage insurance.

Yeah Adrian Flux were pretty poor with my recent non-fault claim, luckily I decided to go ahead without them and used http://www.helphire.com - cost me £10 and I had a free car for 2 months.

Adrian Flux were excellent for me.

Some lass crashed into the back of my FTO and I had problems getting the insurance details off her.

Spoke to my insurance (AFlux) and they sorted it all out.

No excess to be paid, Courtsey Car, Picked up my car and dropped it off, allowed me to choose a bodyshop of my choice. Excellent.

Mixed responses there. Thing is, I have never had to pay a charge like this since I started using car insurance. If you work out that I need a courtesy car around 4 times a year, it adds around 100 quid to the policy!
I'm hasving a bit of a dispute with them at the moment with this "Flashguard" insurance, which was apparently explained to me (not). It covers you for transport cost that you might incur if you get banned from driving! In other words they'll pay for train travel, bus fare etc. £40 extra for something I won't be using! I told them to listen to the original phone conversation when taking out the policy and to get back to me. Surprise, surprise, the system was down, so they're getting back to me on Monday!
Interseted to hear about the garage insurance Michael; wonder if I could do that in future? :?

You should have argued that in court. There is no way I would accept 50/50 if I got slammed in the rear regardless of whether I was moving or stationary. The onus is on the driver behind to drive to the conditions of the road and take appropriate action to avoid the car in front.
