Which wheel for the PS3

Post by un1eash »

Ive got some game vouchers and as there's no games i currently want i thort i'd invest in a steering wheel. The G25 is just to expensive so ive narrowed it down to the Force EX and the Force GT.

Is the Force GT worth £120 or should i get the EX at half the price.

Games i'll be playing are Burnout Paradise, GT, Grid.

Also are there any decent wheels that can be used with the PC and PS3?

Get the Driving Force Pro mate, it's the old version of the Force GT...
All it's lacking are the silly twiddly dials, and it's half the price!
Runs fine on the PS3, I use mine with no trouble on GRID, GT5P, GT4 and F1.

I've been tempted to get the G25 as it's got a clutch pedal.

However, I'm not sure I'd actually prefer that in a video game, no matter how realistic it was #-o

I'm leaning towards the G25 now, can be had for £150-160 and from reading reviews its the best and can be used with both the PS3 and PC.

DING.

The best wheel you can get is the G25. If you can't get that DF Pro is a good cheaper alternative.

G25 was 150 at microdirect very recently (that's from memory which is not very good) but worth noting the clutch isn't useable as a clutch in every driving game. I was surprised to find out it won't work with Grid but if I had the cash I don't think it'd put me off. Awesome wheel, clutch or no clutch.
Got to have a seat too though I reckon.

I'm picking a Force GT up after work for £99.99 from game. Have read reviews and its actually an improvement over the older Force Pro. With upgraded internals. :thumleft:

GLOL!

Actually rather worryingly I am actually using the wheel stand as an ironing board at the moment, I find it works quite well. :+:

;)

On a more serious note though, it does take quite a bit of practice to get competent with a wheel, but it is certainly much better when it comes to controlling slides in comparison with a controller. I'd say it'll take you 2-3 weeks of a reasonable amount of playing to get back to where you was with a joypad. Having said that the wheel pays off big time when it comes to simulation mode or games that are more of a sim than arcade.
