Ive had my eye on this for a while now. Might be tempted to get it on the Wii depending on how good the user controls are.

Looks awesome, with visuals like that I'd certainly go with PS/XB over the Wii.

Anyone else played the demo yet?

Boring, isn't it? Same repetitive 'pick crate - throw crate - kill bad guy' for 10 mins. And why on earth you can't deflect lasers and run at the same time I'll never know: It makes the saber absolutely useless.

Yup, Downloaded it, picked up a couple of crates things, Flung them at baddies knocking them over ran around around a bit and thought, Wow! this is entertaining, DELETE.

Not for me thank you.

(A mate says i must be mad? He's pre-ordered it for the 360 so will give the full game a try and see if that changes my opionion)

the demos quality.

force throw is a little tricky at times but its the best star wars game ive played.

throwing tie fighters around was sweet and the walker at the end is kewl.

I'll assume it's the only Star Wars game you've ever played then, as it's cack. :thumleft: ;)

Fun for 3 mins maybe, but a whole game full of it and a few QTEs? C'mon, even I could knock that up in about a week and slap a SW licence on it.

Also, the actor doing Darth Vader's voice is rubbish. They obviously couldn't afford JEJ. :(

But you think repetitive beat em up's are fun? How can you say star wars is lacking?

well give you a week then, see what you come up with eh?

ive played the phantom menace on PS 1 or 2, whicheva it was. that was the worst star wars game. even galaxies wasnt great.

this game has good graphics, some kewl force powers, good controls.

i dont see how its anymore repetative than a fighting game like matty says.

Beat 'em up has many moves. SWTFU has three (go on then, we'll all it six with the combos).

KoToR had many cool force powers. Jedi Academy had even more, and that was also a 3D running adventure kill 'em up thing just like this, yet the variety in the moves and the different ways you could choose to attack people made it a vastly superior game. This game (as far as has been shown so far) has four force powers: Push, Pull, Choke and Lightning. Woooooo.

For the record, some beat 'em ups ARE very repetitive and rubbish, and I don't like them all. The problem I have with SWTFU is that it seems to be completely devoid of anything remotely adventurous, and whilst I can take a good five minutes of button-mashing as much as the next person, just chucking a QTE in doesn't then make it a good game.

ok thats 2 games that are better (3 including kotor 2).

there must be loads of star wars games and as i said, this is the best IVE played.

i dont get how you can say its not adventurous when youve played a massive 10 minute demo.

im not saying its a new halo, god of war or bioshock. jus that its not cack.

seems the rest of the internet would agree.

And I don't see how you could possibly argue the other way, having played the same demo as me. If the demo is representative of the final game (which you would hope it is), then it's dead boring and the rest of the interweb would appear to agree with me. Well, all recent previews I've read anyway, and even the one critic score I've seen (OPS3 in the US) gave it a 3.5/5. Edge slaughtered it for being repetitive in their last preview, and I can see why.

I'm not saying it's completely without merit, it's just a huge waste of the licence and not a particularly exciting game. IMHO, obviously.
