Mica Blue MK1 no Tax/MOT

Post by PeteW »

Still for sale - MOT expired offers around £300

Car still as described in orginal ad below, but the MOT has now expired, there's no tax and I haven't done anything with the car so I'd like to sell ASAP and get some drive space back.

Original ad..

Mica Blue MK1 for sale, I’m writing this at work and I can’t remember the exact mileage but it’s around 125,000. I do have the service history with me, it’s up to 115,000 with additional oil changes at 118,000 and 121,000 (according to the previous owner).

I only bought it a few weeks ago and it hasn’t moved an inch since then. I planned to keep it for a while and fix up a few bits but I just don’t think I’m going to get round to doing anything with it. My garage is now full of a kitchen that needs fitting and I’m saving up for a wedding. It was one of those impulse buys that I probably shouldn’t have done.

Tax runs out at the end of this month, MOT until August.

I bought it because it’s in pretty good condition for the age and it was cheap. The previous owner told me the arches had been replaced at some point by the previous owner and that does appear to be the case. The lacquer seems to have come off on the driver’s side so the paint is not particularly good but the passenger’s side is fine. The OSF wing has a small rust hole in it and the OSR arch by the mudflap is starting to bubble. The OSR arch is starting to bubble slightly. NS is all good. Hopefully you will see this in the photos.
I’ve also taken off the plastic vents in the door pillars so you can see inside there. All is well, both sides solid all round both doors. Sills are OK as well.

The only real problem is the front bumper bar which will need replacing as it is quite rusty around the towing eye.

It idles fairly high from cold but as you’ll know this is not unusual for these cars. I do have a Paul Woods manual choke conversion but true to my lazy nature I have not got round to fitting it yet. Its fine once warmed up.

If you want any more info or pictures just ask.

07795 281427. I live near Swindon in Wiltshire, not far from the M4.

Pete,
It may be worth mentioning whereabouts you're located as well.
Good luck with the sale!

Thought I'd add a bit more detail as the first description was missing some. I don't have internet access at home at the moment so I can't check this post until Monday but feel free to ring if you want more info.

The previous owner bought it in 2004 and when he got it he replaced the following:

Cambelt
Front disks and pads
2 rear tyres
Coolant
Stainless steel exhaust (claimed to be a Mongoose but I can't confirm that)
Magnecor leads
4 wheel alignment
The car had 118,000 miles then so he didn't drive it much.

There's a bunch more stuff in the history folder, I'll go through it and add some more on Monday.

Cheers

More pics as requested via private message...

The roof over the windscreen is all solid, the ARB mounts are all good, although I can't get a picture of the OSF at the moment due to where the car is parked.

The inner wings are fine. She's a bit dirty and could do with a wash, I'll do that over the weekend.

Sorry for the glare on some of the pics but the sun is shing so I'm not going to complain :)
