Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Just done this photoshop and was wondering what people reckoned about it. Personally I've always loved 80s styling and think the whole two-tone thing complete with retro rims looks ace on the mk2 (more so than it does on a mk1). However my mate tells me I'm bonkers and it looks stupid.
What's the general consensus? If I had a boatload of money, I'd be tempted to style my MR a bit like this one...
spoiler looks wrong, wheels need to be smaller at the front and i doubt you would've got away with a baby blue roll cage in the 80's, other than that i think its pretty cool
Mmmmm,
Doesn't look too bad I suppose, spoilers a Do-Luck one BTW, but I guess you just used it for the colour scheme and alloys rather than the details.
Funnily enough I have a staggered 16" set of those Borbet A alloys, biggest dish I've ever seen and would love to be able to get them on an MR2.
Grown on me a bit more and normally don't like that sort of thing.

Everyone looks at me when I drive down the road now....... wish I could read minds.
The idea is cool, I think you pic looks great, sort of toying with doing something similar but its quite a JDM thing to do IMHO.
The wheels are really old skool Euro type wheels so it looks a bit mis-matched, put some cool Jap wheels on.... Super Advans would work well , dont even need to be that retro, just have a real Jap look to them. BTW not having a go at your wheels, just saying they might not suit the paint job thats all.
A "fine man in Dandism" sticker would also be a must
Top marks for the quality Photoshopping dude!
Bottom half in silver/grey and I'd like it better. I think the problem is that I like the 2s shape so much any colour/combo that disguises it is a non starter for me. Bottom half is too dark IMO.

im in to the two-tone effect...
i think it shows the car's shape and lines very well.
Plus you wont be able to see the annoying tar/debris that tends to be really apparent on white MR's.
two tumbs fresh!
I think that looks very smart, and of course it'd look better when properly done when compared to a photoshopped picture.
The chunky AE89-styled one looks bloody awful.
I like.
I did see a two tone MR2 a year or two at JAE, it looked lovely in the flesh. (Think it was blue/red or similar, sounds odd but really effective).
I think that break really brings out the lines of the MR2.
