Late-1989 mk1 MR2

Red

T-Bar

Engine runs fine and has approx 170k miles

Fitted with aftermarket 15" alloy wheels

Other than the wheels it is basically standard and unmolested

- Engine runs fine
- Car drives quite well.
It can feel a little vague on the handling, but that could be down to wheels, worn tyres, worn bushes/balljoints
- Seats are cloth and in pretty good condition
- It would make quite a good start point for a project or restoration, and it is for sale cheap!

- Handling is a little vague, needs looking at and probably a suspension overhaul
- Brakes arent nice.
the car has been sat for almost a year so they need using to get them working again.
but if i remember rightly they judder a little too.
needs overhauling really.
- chassis has rust in the usual places.
i have never gone over it with a fine toothcomb, but judging by the sill return area id say that the sills probably need replacing if they havent already, arches have been
(badly) filled by previous owner, as have sill return panels
(which i have knocked through to see extent).
it needs properly checking, and its by no means mint.
it needs work, and welding.
but its far from the worse ive seen
- wheels are wrong offset and hubcentric diameter and need changing.
tyres are perished and flatspotted
- was originally leather interior, ive replaced seats with cloth
(leather ones were wasted), and the door cards were sold.
steering wheel and carpet have a little mould on from being stored outside, and the damp the leaking T-Bar created
- T-Bar seals leak
(dont they all?)
- has no tax or MOT, but did have until i let them expire October last year
- paintwork is quite tired, and faded
(red always does)
- a few bodywork areas of the car have the trim dismantled
(rear buttress area, side vent, etc)
- the engine lid catch doesnt work properly
- the boot lid release doesnt work, and i had to break the lock to get in to it to retrieve some stuff from it a while ago, needs sorting

cant really think of anything more off the top of my head, im trying to be as honest as i possibly can be.

its not a mint car, its not even a properly roadworthy car, but it would require a small amount of work

on the other hand, it would make an excellent spares car, as most of the parts on it are useable and this was my reason for buying it.

im asking
