is my clutch going to go?

Post by DamienMR2 »

last month i bought a 1995 GT T-bar with 80000 miles and FTSH, drives lovely, but the biting point of the clutch is near the top, dusnt slip or nothing, drives perfect, just wondering if the bite is high does that mean its going to go soon? and if so how much will it be for a new clutch? and fitting?
thanks for any help

High biting point would suggest that the clutch certainly isn't brand new, replacement clutch about £250 and probably something similiar again to get it fitted

Just had the same thing with mine mate.
when i bought it the bitting point was high even when i adjusted it.
Now 2000 miles l8r its slipping any thing over 3000rpm,so its goona completly go soon. :(
Ive got a new clutch and gear oil just need to find time to fit it.
They normally go between 70,000-80,000 so youve done well.

Has it got a standard clutch?

I have a brand new XTD clutch and the biting point is right at the top.
