I would avoid packing it out behind AVC-R unit as it gets very hot behind.

I just placed mine in the ashtray hole but loose. Doesn't rattle around too much.

How about foam, cut a block out the size of the ashtray, and the cut the shape of the avcr into the foam block.

I made a little alloy shelf from some scrap and bolted that to the 'cup'. Then I used some velcro to mount the AVC-R to the alloy. Solid mount and easy to remove when I am pulling the dash apart.

I just used the AVC-R hinged bracket. sticky on bottom holds it to bottom of ashtray void & AVC-R sticks to top of it.
Wasn't aware there was a rattle about problem?!

They look cool, and at least you'll get half your money back flogging your ashtrays!

Why dont you just use the stand its supplied with, and use it back to front, you can adjust the angle with the built in mechanism as well then. All you need to do is use some spongy double sided tape to secure the stand in the recess and secure the avcr to the stand.

That's what I've done. I also added a small strip of double sided sticky rubber/foam to the front side of the AVCR so it sticks to the inside of the ashtray and stops it moving about.

You could also use those tiny sticky pads they sell in Halfords for sticking metal tax discs to your windscreen. Just makes it more secure.

Presumably Eddy's ones were angled towards the right of the car not the left like the one in the photo?

I used loads of blu-tack under my AVC-R and it works perfect. :thumleft:

Exactly what I've done. Works well too.
