rev3 tubby fast road / track ready

Post by Mikey P MR2 »

PRICE REDUCED 11/07/08

This is a very fast example of a rev3 mr2

I will not make bhp claims as these vary so much from dyno to dyno but this car runs a 12.9 second qtr mile which is faster than most examples I have seen with the same or similar modifications showing it’s a very healthy and fast car.

It’s a good condition low mileage Rev3 Mr2 Turbo GTS
It’s in very good condition and been in the country for less than 2 years (came over by NVI mr2 importer specialists) since then I have really looked after it spending a fortune on modifications and it’s also been well looked after by specialists (3s & pacific works). I use it near daily on the road, and occasionally on the track where it really shines. It’s very reliable as it has almost all the “bolt on modifications” but a standard engine and turbo. I always warm it up and let it cool down. I have changed the oil regularly and never taken the boost higher than 1.2bar
I attend a lot of shows so many of you will have seen it in real life and will know it’s a nice example.

Below are the rough specifications
Toyota MR2 turbo Rev3 GTS

Specifications

Engine
Apexi Induction kit
5Zigen exhaust
Jap Speed decat downpipe
Blitz electronic boast controller
HKS turbo timer
Larger alloy intercooler with Spal fan
Blitz BOV
Excedy clutch
aftermarket LSD
TRD leads

Chassis
Cusco fully adjustable coil over suspension
Cusco strut brace
EBC drilled and doted brake discs all round and Red stuff pads

Wheels and Tyres
Enkeni 16” light weight racing alloys in white with polished rims
Good tires recently fitted (also the option to purchase other track tires and rims).

Exterior
Smoked Crystal front indicators
Rare GTS front bumper (no fog lights)
Bomex 180 front lip
Side skirts
Phoenix power rear spats
Custom one off alloy rear diffuser
Carbon fibre GT mirrors (not shown in all pics and quite rare on a mr2)
Sebion Carbon fibre bonnet
Carbon fibre GT wing
Custom vented inspection panels

Interior
Recaro speed seats (same as option in rev4 cars but in alcantara and cloth).
OMP steering wheel
Omori boost, oil pressure, oil temp and exhaust temp gauges
Fully welded in and padded roll cage (fitted through dash very rare you will not have seen a cage like this, its very unobtrusive compared to most cages).

Pioneer, Fly and Alpine ICE and a CAT1 alarm

There are no real negatives to this car other than its very performance focused and some drivers may not like the looks, loud exhaust (have bung to make quieter) or stiff suspension.

The car has covered just 64k its obviously taxed and tested and I have all the British history bills and sales invoice etc. Everything works as should (including the aircon).
On the 28th June it was compression tested and returned perfect results on all 4 cylinders.

Price is £4999 NOW REDUCED TO £4499

Any questions please ask

I have quite a few people ask what’s the best price on this, I really think you need to come view and test drive the car before you ask for money off.
I am considering putting it back to stock and selling as a stock car then the parts separately as I think I would get more money this way. Although I really don’t want to go this way, would much rather sell as a complete car.

Second hand prices would be roughly as below

Carbon bonnet £250
Bomex front lip £80
Role cage £250
Enkei Wheels £400
spare wheels track tyres £150
Diffuser £50
Carbon mirrors £75
Alloy intercooler and pipe work £80
5Zigen exhaust £250
carbon spoiler £100
rear spats £30
side skirts £50
blitz boost control £100
Apexi induction £50
Blitz BOV £50
Recao seats with mr2 sub frames £300
Nearly new ebc discs and red stuff pads (front and back) £100
Jap speed decat £70
Pair of vented rear inspection panels £40
Gauges £100 for all 4 omori
Smocked lights £15
Omp steering wheel and adapter £25
Fully adjustable cusco suspension set up £500

Maybe a few more bits too as you can see this adds up to over £3000 even at average/low second hand prices and then a good low mile stock rev3 should be worth £3000 plus so I think my price is very fair.

Please do not start offering to buy the parts yet as I don’t think I can bring myself to break it. I am just hoping to justify that to someone looking for a track ready mr2 this is a fair price and if you are seriously interested in the car and you view and test drive it then I will discuss the price and take offers within reason.

Michael Is a top bloke and also a passionate MR 2 enthusiast. The person who acquires this MR 2 will be 'lucky', to say the least. And this type of quality and with this level of refinements and mods for no real extra cost Is rare too. I have sat In this MR 2 and she Is well looked after. Sorry to see her possible go Mike. Best of luck with the transaction and happy new owner quite soon. :( :D

Well worth the asking price in my opinion.

Was just about to enquire about some parts when I noticed the note at the bottom #-o

Good luck with the sale :thumleft:

bargin for the recaros if you remove them. I paid that for just the seats without the rails.

Good luck with the sail.

Thanks for all the positive comments people. I really don’t think I can bring myself to start selling off parts separately (even though it’s the financially sensible thing to do).

I am selling to get something cheaper to run as I am still commuting 40 miles a day and my mortgage fixed term finishes in November and I therefore need to reduce my monthly overheads. I did try running a cheap runabout for a while, but I never wanted to drive it and the girlfriend got more use out of it than me.

In case I didn’t say above am based in Milton Keynes by the way.

I have reduced the price by £500 now, note this is a refection of the current market and no way a reflection in the condition of the car which is still a very good example and in my opinion still well worth the £5000 but I would quite like to sell it in the near future.

so its now £4499.

Ok I put down a deposit on my next car last night and hope to collect it early next week so I will therefore require a quick sale and will consider reasonable offers.

Although I have had a moderate amount of interest, no one has been to view the car yet but I am sure the first person to view it / test drive it will buy it as it really is very good in real life, and can be bought for a very good price at the moment if you are quick.

Having had a quick look round the other for sale adds I see there are a couple of similar rev3s cars on here for around the £4k mark and just over (look like nice examples too). I am willing to sell mine for a similar price to any of the other examples found on here for a quick sale even though I think mine is the fastest and more modified example. So as said will take offers on the £4495 price for a quick sale, but must go to a good home.
