take my 91 turbo for a goodrip wheni get back after a couple good boostpuls the manifold and turbo are glowing red car still works fine temp fine and engine bay temp alright any idea wats causing this?

This is caused by having lots of fun and should be stopped immediately!.......NOT ;-')



Turbos get hot - hence all the heat shields and warning signs everywhere! :-)

its normal, check youtube for videos, theres some that glow near white hot!!

my old escort turbo used to glow big time, its funny when you listen to the stainless steel exhaust cooling down when it goes ping ping aswell thats normal after a good ragging sesion, dont worry its the biggest problem with turbo's is the heat cooler you get it better thay perform

Never noticed mine glowing. Obviously not pushing the turbo hard enough, lol.

I was plagued with glow on my last build, turned out to be massive boost leak.
