Yeah, I updated and then played Uncharted for a couple of hours, went to quit game and the XMB popped up, forgot about that new feature :) :)
Not really sure what the point of the Trophies thing is though, seems like a waste of time.

I'm sure I did an update last night and it was 2.1?

Is it a regional release or something?

Not regional, pretty sure it's global - certainly whole of UK domestic market - try updating again - I don't know if you need to go through the updates sequentially (e.g. can't jump straight from 2.0 to 2.41) so there may be additional updates waiting.

Edit - should certainly be at 2.36 in the very least, that's been available for around a month.

Yeah - from memory - scroll all the way to the left in the XMB, then scroll down for System Information - will tell you in there.

Been trying to download it for a while, keep getting stupid errors. What a waste of time the PS3 is. Does any of the online content actually work consistantly?

It's not far from being boxed back up and put on ebay. Bag of master bates.

I've never had an issue, flew down last night - ever thought to question any other links in the chain? e.g. your internet connection - ask your ISP if anything is disallowed, if you're on a budget internet connection it may not allow gaming and whatnot, or maybe your router isn't setup correctly, try putting it in the DMZ and try again to narrow it down.

Sounds like the hardware connecting you to the outside world might be though.

(Spare me the list of ultra high tech gear you use, it'll be boring)

Download mine on the PC from here:
http://uk.playstation.com/help-support/ ... /download/

Then whazz it onto a USB memory stick.
Then boosh it into the PS3 (has to be a specific folder structure on the memory stick though - that had me stuck for a while the first time, something like PS3\UPDATE\)

:)

Yay, stooping to uninformed personal insults, maybe next year you can try and get on the debating team at School.

Good plan, does it matter if you jump a few updates? I'm guessing (hoping) that if it does, the update function will prevent you from doing something horrible anyway, although I suspect it shouldn't matter.

It won't matter in the slightest, ignore anyone who says it does

I admit, it was a rash post and uncalled for, the fact I was in a terrible mood doesn't mean I should have a go at someone on here but who asked all you lot to stick your noses in?

I'm sure he can handle the abuse just fine without the PS3 mafia sticking their oar in.

You lot go on about the Xbox guys being fanboys and yet when someone brings the PS3 into question you jump in with crap about how it can't be the PS3 and it must be the other hardware at fault. The mighty Sony can't be at fault. :^o

I did end up doing that to be honest after gettin fed up of seeing several different error codes.
