Up to and including 31/07/1995 MR2 turbo are exempt from CAT test.

If you are unsure ring the MOT tester helpline and explain the situation. The person on the other end will provide their name should your MOT test station enter SW20 but omit to input 3SGTE.

I'm sure if you search you will find a thread with a link.

I'd search for you but IMOC is now so slooow I can't be ar$ed TBH.

slip him £10 to stick the emission tester up another cars exhaust  . Some will just do it anyway, my friend took a car to a garage to get tested and the mechanic just said "theres no point in you taking it home to fit the cat as I know you are just going to take it off again anyway when its passed"

or tell the garage to read the fooking manual! Of course, they could call the Vosa but if the garage starts getting funny then you can report them for failing to do the test properly. Sadly, your car would fail every single MOT at the station for ever :(

you could always take it to a specialist for an MOT, they'll pass it no problem :thumleft: as long as it passes the none cat test of course
