360 advice please

Post by Carlos GTS »

Hi All,

Seen this,

http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/55 ... oduct.html

In the comments it says it doesn't come with HDMI port.

Can someone explain this to me, Is this only on certain models? (ie the elite)

Is this a good buy? Or should I look for HDMI port one?

Cheers.
Carl

PS... Please please please do not turn this into a PS3 vs 360 thread. Just looking for some advice. (I've decided to keep my PS3 and buy a 360 for the time being.)

My Arcade has an HDMI port. The only one that comes an HDMI lead is the Elite but as far as I'm aware, all 3 on offer now have HDMI output.

Cheers for the comments all.

What about Wifi. I understand all Xbox's dont come with wifi. IS this correct?

Anyone find any decent deals. The only game I'm really interested in at the moment is COD4..

Cheers

No sadly they're not wireless. You can pick up wireless adapters for them on ebay for about 30 quid probably.

Must be old stock, ie more prone to overheating :?

The lack of hdmi isn't really a big issue i don't think, but i'd be more concerned about the old chipset inside the console

Apparently it's easy to port the 360 through your laptop or desktop (so long as it's got wireless) and use that. So that has now not become an issue.

The 3 red rings is I suppose and issue, however if MS are offering 3 years warentee against it. I can't really see that being a problem.

Just got to find a good deal.

Game are doing a premiem with COD4 and battlefield (i think ?)for £230. That's the new system with HDMI port. I'm thinking If I pay £180 for the original system I posted. I'm going pay £40 for Cod4.. so for an extra £10 I get Battlefield someting or other. Anyone know that game and if it's any good?

cheers for all the positive comments guys n girls.

HMV often do good deals, I got a superb one for my PS3. (console, 2 games, 2 blurays, hdmi lead for £350)

As above, all the packages have HDMI as long as you buy the new ones. Arcade, Premium or Elite.
Elite is the only one that gets an HDMI lead in the box though. But you can pick them up for less than a tenner online any way.

I reccomend getting a premium as it has the hard drive, head set, component cable in the box. They all have wireless controllers now, even the arcade one which is better. The bottom package used to have wired controllers.

Except HDMI cables cost peanuts in comparisons to adding wifi to an XCox.

I never trusted wireless with gaming so I use this systemhttp://www.devolo.com/co_EN/index.html along with a wired/wireless router.

it means I can plug into the internet from any outlet in the house plus have wifi running on the router too. I have the xbox wired so connection is always strong and constant with gaming.
