Leaving feedback on a transaction where you are not named.

Guys,

I agreed to buy an item that was advertised for sale on this site, but the seller didn't list me as the buyer when they closed the transaction - they selected "anon".

As it turns out, the transaction hasn't gone smoothly and there's the possibility that I may have to leave negative feedback. Can this transaction be amended to show me as the buyer and allow me to leave feedback?

er, I guess that is possible, but it would certainly leave the system open to abuse from people pretending to be the recipients of sales which have been marked as anon..

In my particular case it looks like the issue is being resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, but it did highlight the potential issue. I agree that the system may become open to abuse but if it's only possible by contacting a moderator then there will at least be some kind of check.

At the moment - and with no reference to my original request - the system is potentially open to abuse by sellers who know they are likely to recieve negative feedback. By not naming the buyer they also guarantee that they won't recieve negative feedback.

Patrick, that is a very relevant point.
I wouldn't like to think that members of this forum would actively work the system to knowingly avoid negative fedback, but there should be some sort of framework to help in this type of situation.

It is a good point. Have you seen any member ever with negative feedback?

There are also those that are not good sellers that have been banned and yet none of them had negative feedback.

I bought something a month or so ago and the seller finalised the sale with someone else's name

Can a mod help out as I've pm'd the seller and asked him to contact a mod but as yet nothing has been done
