H3RB - how many hours of those 19.5 were cut scenes in the end?

Can I play this with no experience of the previous games?

If it's anything like the old Metal Gears you can yeah...truth be told though....you won't want to.

Start with Metal Gear Solid on PS1 and work your way through. Will help the story and will show the progression of the games. And don't worry about the minimal gameplay on MGS1 ro the graphis cos after 2 minutes of playing you don't notice. It's part of what makes MGS so good

No thanks!

Dont do backwards, only forwards.

I hated the PS1 and 2 and other consoles of simular generations.

There's a gap for me, went from N64 to modern next gen.
I dont ever intend to go back to those old games.

The thing I like about games these days is how real they look and feel. Just dont get that from old consoles.

Thats what made MGS different. Once you've played it for 2 minutes you get so immersed you might as well be watching a film. Graphics etc really don't matter...honestly. Play it and you'll see what I mean. Will make you wanna play and appreciate MGS4 even more

Or, you can just have both with alot of modern games.

Kris, put it this way. The PS3 isnt backwards compatible and I'm certainly not ever getting a ps1 or 2 console.

I think I had a metal gear solid game given to me for the Xbox but it didnt play.
Was there one for the old Xbox?

Didnt work any one so never mind.

I went off consoles for a reason back then, I just didnt like them or any of the games that came out.

While I agree good game plan and a good story are very important, I think looking good is very very close too. Games back then just looked laughable.

:-k Since when?

60gigs upscale PS1 & PS2 games. 40gigs upscale PS1 only due to the missing emotion engine but there's talk of a firmware update later in the year that might include some form of PS2 emulation.

when i bought it, it said not backwards compatible. That's all i know. Tbh, if i wanted to play old games i'd have bought a much cheaper old computer for them. Paying 300 quid for a console to play 13 year old games is like buying a veyron to buy your milk with.
