Ross's Story - New Turbo Has Arrived!! - Update 09/05/07

Post by rossdymond3352 »

Hi all! Right some of you know me, some don't!

Couple of years ago, i bought a rev1 turbo, it was aweful, and spent most of its life with James from 3S under it!

Anyway, i got to a point, and gave up trying, more and more things kept going wrong. It was tiresome! "teppy" as the missus named her, sat down the back of our house for some time, tax and MOT expired about a week before i decided, that i couldn't bear to see her sit tehre any longer.

A quick scout and a chat with James @ 3S saw me considering a turbo change (the curretn ct20b is foobed) and some general maintainence.

Fortunatly, a bit of money has been coming my way thanks to a new job, so A went to B and after another chat with James, the spec's of an engine build were drawn out!

I also decided the bodywork needed to look better, if it was going to be housing a good engine!

So it started, i took the rear end off, and started welding up the holes from the 3 peice spoiler, after realising i'd bought the wrong gas! (Just after i'd got out the car from buying it lol) i went back, changed it over, and start by welding litte plates behind, and building the weld up on top.

Thats as fasr as i've got at the moment, and a few pics will be coming soon. Thanks to James for all his assistance, i'm sure he'd bored of changing my mind now!!! I'll list the full spec of the engine when i get a chance! It's nothing mad, but clean pants will still be compulsory! (For me anyway  )

The decision has been taken, to lay my mr2 to rest :(

After james found severe scoring on the crank i could not justify spending extra on a car that requires lots of work elsewhere.

I've got my eye on a 95 rev3 NA in black 8) Which im going to look at tomorrow.

Then i'll start on the engine build that was destined for my rev1.

Bye Teppy, its been fun
