yes it would have helped but i wanted to find the cars limits and make the most of my aftermarket lsd. I was there to have some over steer fun more than get round quickly (i had the wing on for silverstone which i also did sunday at JTS).

i know exactly what you mean mate, half of the time i wanted to get my ar$e out instead of taking the corner as fast as possible :D .......and i defo found the limits more than once.

But i now feel i know how far i can push the mr2, and in the last 2 sesisons of the day i did not loose it once. LOVED IT!!!

Its certainly great fun starting out on airfields and obviously minimises the risk which is generally a good thing if you are learning car control, but you do miss out on the change in gradients of a circuit which is what makes it and the track is clearly defined.

I did do a few airfield days when i first got into trackdays, but tend not to anymore.

You'll have to learn to spread your wings a bit further in all honesty.

There isn't much in that radius.

Brands Indy, too short to be interesting lots of gravel which is never really a good thing and fairly tight out of druids.

I don't rate it in all honesty.

Rockingham is not bad, within a couple of hours drive. Plenty of room for the most part.

Anglesey is probably one of the best starter circuits, though you'd need to make a weekend of it if you went up there.

Donington is good and is exciting if you want something fast, most of the way round there is plenty of room if you mess up.

I'm afraid though that all the best circuits are most definately oop north, ie Cadwell, Oulton, Croft. Best to get your driving sorted though before thinking about those three.

Well 90 mins ideally but i am from up North anyway so i could always go home and do a circuit day up there if needs be. :thumleft:

It's my first trackday in my MR2 around Donnington on Monday evening. Have driven the circuit before in a 355 & 911 Turbo on an experience day but of course that was with instructors and in a relatively controlled environment. Monday is open pit.

Looking forward to it with a mixture of excitement & trepidation - don't want to bend/blow up my car!

Should be good to see how well mine mixes it with 'faster' cars, after all I've read about in 'Driving Experiences'

Its just the evening session which is 17:00 to 21:00 - I think, my mate booked it. It is open pit lane & £110.
Seems a lot, but I've got to do it at least once! :thumleft:

I did 50 miles at the track day mate and i used 3/4 of a tank in that time!!!!

With it been open pit lane mate you will be able to get as much time on track as you want. I did around 6 laps then came in to let the tyres brakes and car cool down :thumleft:
