i've been ripped off by nengun

Post by C50 »

I suggested to nengun to add TRD topmounts to their product list which they did and then bought a set as it worked out cheaper then fensport.

I only recieved just one!

When i placed the order, over a month ago, i read the description carefully and ordered 1 as it said quantity 2 and in the invoice. When i emailed them about this they changed the description on their website "2 quantity means 2 needed.. These bushes are sold as single units" this was added on after i emailed them

http://www.nengun.com/trd/suspension-bushes (check the only thing with 2 quantity beside it)

is there anything i can do? :(

Moved to Trader Feedback.

Please read the rules here:

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=94989

before going any further also to make sure this is approached fairly on all sides.

My main recommendation would be to get some good communication happening with them first though to see if you can deal with this off the forum.

A tough call, however at the price they state, I would wonder if it were 2 included (fensport are £40+vat each) so someone selling 2 for £33 is a bit quizzical.

They should take it back under refund, but then your stuck without any, i'd just write them a nice email explaining the mistake say you will buy a second and would they offer a discount/free postage in way to compensate for the oversight.

hope you sort it out

okay will have to do that seeing as it came to like £78 for just one.

It was cheap. i did quzz it and then looked carefully there was no mention of 2 "needed" it just said qty 2 so thought.. bargain! Other peeps mention this place being cheap as chips but only long delivery time.

well i've emailed them. But if they won't give free postage i may aswell just order another from fensport as its cheaper that way.

It's their mistake really and i'm left out of pocket. This "means 2 needed" was definitely not on the description at the time of order

As a slight sidepoint. I understand it is too late in this case perhaps. But it is useful to know in the future.

If you think that a website has been changed (like it sounds in this case in the companies favour) then it is possible to view an older version of their website. For example if when you bought a product it said one thing, but then you recieved the item and the complained and the website was changed in there favour, then you can prove that it has been changed by viewing/downloading a copy of the old one.

Put simply every week or two Google 'crawls' all of the websites it knows to search, to see whether any changes have been made. When it does this it stores a 'cached' copy of the website on its systems. Therfore if a website is changed and Google has not re-crawled the website then the cached version they have is the older one (before the changes were made).

Cached websites can be accessed by searching for the companies website in google and then clicking the 'Cached' link highlighted in the image below.

Sorry for going on a bit of a tangent, but worth mentioning.

i don't know how to do it but i'm certain it has been changed :(

can anyone do this for me  my order was on the 26th April..

this is the response i got after asking for postage discount or free postage... "it is clearly written that the number 2 does not mean quantity 2 it means two needed. You have no legal action. Todd"

Never will i do business with them again

I've said how to do it in my previous post. When you click on the cached link in the google search section highighted in the image I posted then it shows you google's backed up page.

However I have already checked and it shows the modified website which probably means google has re-scanned the website since the changes were made. So unfortunatly it is not possible to identify the change in this case.

Only advise for future purchase is if you can be bothered, take a screen shot (Print Screen) of the page when you buy it. Then if it ever happened again you have proof.

Sorry didn't work in this case.

Paul

p.s. sounds like a pretty rash response from them

I don't see the "ripping off" here, but I do agree that their site is misleading. Look at the AW11 bushes; it says "Quantity 2".

This is at best a poor grasp of English. I personally would change that to "two required". Quantity 2 implies to me that you get two bushes.

well that's what i thought :( plus i really think that description was added on later. I was the one who told them to add it to their product list so read carefully to make sure they were the correct part too before ordering.

i feel cheated hence the "ripped off"

I too have had quite poor communication from Todd, cold, blunt, and with no flex.

But stating you have been ripped off is extreme at best, you have been misslead by bad cimmunication which is something quite different, and common with international trade where pre-purchase question and answer style communication has not taken place.

I understand your dissapointment.

I asked them to import me 10 pfcs at a discounted/trade price, I got a answer very close to FXXK @FF from Todd
