Its 720p i'm afraid.

The touge stuff is a lot of fun. I've been doing it with a wheel in pro mode all assists off. Only trouble is using the handbrake is nigh on impossible with a wheel so i've had to do a bit of left foot braking, well trail braking really, which i've just learnt to do for real in the Teg at Croft on Monday.

Struggled a bit at first but am improving fairly quickly.

Did some touring cars around Spa and then had a go at career mode. Think i tried that a bit too early as not had decent results yet.

It looks good so far, prefer it over Dirt certainly. Need a bit more time with it I think.

A bit more info:
Overall its good fun.

The Touge stuff is quite addictive and not amazingly hard. Seems a bit mad when you do the Midnight Touge and you have cars coming the other way up the mountain pass! Also there is an obvious nod to Initial D with the Akina, Takumi and some other run.

Ditto the drift stuff although i'm finding it nigh on impossible to use the handbrake when using a wheel, so have been applying trail braking which works okay, so not a massive hinderance.

Have done some touring car races, that was quite good fun. The damage is good and perhaps a bit more realistic.

Also had a go in an F3 Dallara round Spa, that was cool and pretty bloody quick.

Have started the Grid World mode which is basically the career mode where you do some guest drives to earn enough cash to start your own team. Found it incredibly difficult but now have managed to win a race with my own team, so am improving I think.

It seems like a good mix of disciplines, will be interesting to see what its like online.

Handling even in pro-mode is fairly arcadey, its defo no sim, but, it is good fun, which i guess is the main thing. Its much better than Dirt and at least the wheel works really well which is a relief.

Was nice to see Spa in the circuits and i'm sure at the beginning i've seen Donington. However all the circuits i've been on so far (with the exception of Spa, Nurburgring GP and Jarama) I don't know and a lot seem to be street circuits which i'm guessing are just made up. That annoys me because it is so much better to race on proper circuits, but i doubt i've uncovered them all yet.

Overall i'm enjoying it, but really i'm only just at the start.

...Seems pretty good this, just gotta get into the hang of it after playing lots of GT4 recently.
Anyone who pre-ordered from play fancy swapping codes?
I've got the gamestation code for a 320Si

Its good but not as good as gt4. The cars are not as responsive but the crash damage is cool. I am playing with all aids turned off and there would be no way I could swerve all over the track at 200mph on a straight and not spin out. Ok game though :thumleft:

Played it yesterday at a mates and bought it today. I have to say; for me, the "Open Wheel" F1 type cars spoil it.

It's not bad fun though.

It is good. Going to give it a bit of time over a quiet weekend.

I would have thought any self-respecting petrolhead with a penchant for gaming would have had this on pre-order?

I never get bored of watching live football or playing it.
But football games all get a bit boring after a while.

The problem with football, racing and most sports games is the're never anything new there.

It's the same format, the same "plot" etc every time.

No matter how polished the graphics or the AI it's the same thing that was out last month.

Well, yes, a racing game is always going to be about winning races I guess, there is no getting away from that.

Just been doing drifting online with a friend of mine, was pretty good fun, even though i'm crap at it. Grid does have a number of genres, okay nobody is really going to be interested in the 'muscle' type events, well apart from teh merkins but the euro and jap stuff is good fun for sure.

Actually, I had a go at the Mustang GT500 race and had fun!

The drifting is bloody hard.
