Engine bay fan

hi all, i have a N/A mk2.iv had it over a year now and the engine bay fan has never worked.checked the fan on a seperate power sorce and it works, the relay switch and fuse r both ok.the warning light doesnt come on with the engine running. does any1 have any ideas what else it could be?

have you tried unplugging the temp sensor thats attached to the engine bay lid. If you unplug it the fan should start... even if engine is stone cold..... if it does not perhapse the fan is broken ?

ok thanks, unfortunatly taking the temp sensor off didnt make the fan come on.this is an annoying thing could take sum thinkin :-k dont suppose anyone else has an idea?

sounds like a problem with the wiring if it works under a different power source and the fuse and relay are ok.

check the wiring back from the fan to the relay etc. maybe put some replacement wire in place as a test and see if that works.

u try unplug the fan and feed 12v to it to test fan??
