hmm, I don't want to turn this into a thread slating free mods, but front fans on constantly might be disingenous also.

they'll consume electricity, which is ultimately generated in a car by burning petrol. if they don't need to be on, then why put the extra drain on the alternator?

I have a uprated battery and 130 amp alternator.

Well seeing as the car is an ebay special, most of them.

Headlight mod to stop them staying up. Free

Removing rear bumper grill...Free

De-badging and completely de-stickering the car, even down to the orange stickers on the door locks...Free

Engine bay braided hoses £25

Richbrook gear surround...Free (it was a pressie)

Tinted lights £12



Chrome indicator bulbs

Hidden 1m LED strip in boot £10, wood and carpet to make a small shelf....free

Still gotta do the blue light led conversion £20

M3 Electric Mirrors £7.50, and alot of time to mould them



Dial surround £20



Paint £16



Sand paper and autoglym & TIME!



Again sandpaper autoglym and time



Loads more little ones but can't think and need to get on and try and do some work today...maybe.

ripped leather gearknob pull off all leather to find a nice new one underneath that is complete with the numbers on the top too it amased me, also tired looking standard steering wheel go over with leather sofa cleaner and remove all the dead scin thats built up over the years, my mrs done it to mine she was going to go over my knob with it to bring it up but after pulling leather off it wasnt needed oh dear that does sound a bit rude doesnt it all free mods no cash involved

As my stereo has a bright blue light which stays on permanently I have had to add a switch so it doesn't scream "here I am, come get me", but have been wondering where to mount it, and as I've never actually used the Eco on mine that'll do the job sweet.

put it all together hooked it up to the ciggy lighter and when i turn the lights on it all lights up so blue dash blue stereo and blue "MR2" light up looks pretty damn gud

Gain a few bhp per tonne.

Kind of pointless, but rather than putting a full tank of petrol in, just but a 1/3 of a tank.

Rough figures for an n/a.
Assuming 170 bhp and 1300kg.
Full tank of petrol = about 50kg.
1/3 of a tank = 17kg. Saves 33kg and gains 3bhp per tonne.

On a mildly tuned tubby it would equate to about 5bhp/tonne.

Only things i have done is

Borrowed a Load of polishing stuff from work and have polished most of my engine just costing time.

Auto folding mirrors so they fold when i arm my alarm and open when i disarm.
