Goodbye MR2 mk1 world!

I recently gave up on my MR2 mk1 after owning it for 8 years, and I do miss it. It got too rusty to keep but til the end it was a fantastic car to drive and I think unrivalled for the cost of ownership.

So I'm no longer in the MR2 mk1 gang but thanks to everyone in this community for keeping me enthusiastic for as long as I was. A great source of info and encouragement!

May you all keep your mk1s on the road forever, not least because I may want to buy another one in 10 years time!

I bought a model kit of an MK1 when I sold my first one, and made it up exactly like mine was (except the dents, rust and missing trim obviously).

Hope you find something less rusty and just as much fun, but I think you'll be looking for a while unless you've got elise money in the bank.

In 10yrs time there won't be any left to buy, unless you wanna pay £10K for one!! I got rid of my 1st mk1 in 2004 as needed cash for building work, but I recently bought another...don't leave it too long

Won't be till next year as its still WIP as per my Garage details. If you know anyone in Kent-Maidstone area thats good at welding then let me know as need help with a new rear arch and a-pillar...should hopefully look the muts nuts when its done...will be good to meet up with fellow MR2 fans

My first mk1 had the badge missing. I bought a replacement, and never got round to fitting it before I sold the car. A couple of years later I found myself buying another mk1. And I'm even thinking of getting my third at the moment! I think the eagle badge must act as a magic talisman or something... you'll return to the mk1 world eventually, I'm sure!
