Luke (Sky Walker) - Pacific works & THE DEVIL CAR

Post by Charged »

Just a public thanks to Luke for sorting out a few bits on my 1.5, getting her running well again, general tidy up and prep for the MOT (which she passed with flying colours!)

Luke is local to me, good on prices and very knowledgeable so I will definitely be using him again :thumleft:

Highly recommended by me :D

I saw your MK1.5 on monday up at lukes and all I can say is OMG!

Also lukes a top bloke, got him to refresh my old suspension and he helped me out on the phone when I stupidly got a socket stuck over one of the strut adjusters and couldnt get it off again :oldtongue:

Credit again to Luke..

I made it all the way to Japfest and back but the car died about half a mile from my place on the way back.. I was completely stumped as to what was wrong with it and after getting it towed back to my 'rents it was stranded at the bottom of their driveway

I picked Luke up last night after work, took him to my parents place and he had it fixed within 10 minutes.. it was a simple broken EFI fuse.

It is now all back up and running, thanks to Luke for taking time out to come and help me out.. very much appreciated again.

For anyone who doesn't know, Luke is an MR2 specialist based just outside St Albans, he knows his stuff and I would recommend him to anyone reading this.

Thanks

I dont think he really needs the plug as he is always so damn busy but here we go:

My 1.5 is now officially known as the car of the devil. Luke is pretty damn patient with the car (and with me to be honest!) as it spends most of the time at his workshop!

I've had various problems and the car goes to Luke each and everytime it needs work doing. He knows my car inside and out.

Most recently Luke has done the driveshaft (CV joint end snapped in style at the 'Pod), new downpipe and has arranged for one of his friends to reweld an engine mount which was making some horrendous noises. I wont go into the driveshaft fix but suffice to say it was an awful job - time consuming and filthy. Luke stuck with it until the job was done.

The car has been getting me down quite a bit recently as I never get to drive it and it saps a lot of my time and money.. all is worthwhile as soon as I see an open road though  I actually stuck the car in my garage for the winter but pulled her out again last night as I'm sick of driving a little fiesta and wanted to blow some cobwebs out.. After Luke and I spent a solid day getting her running right (hunting down a misfire and advanced the timing) she runs so, so well!

Anyway, I'm waffling now but in summary, Luke is VERY patient, good at what he does I wouldn't use anyone else.

I've even convinced him that Mk2s are crap and he has bought a Mk1.. albeit to stick a REV 3 lump in and call it 'project beat Ollie' Hows it coming along by the way mate??!!

And one more thing, Luke kindly donated me a 4age starter motor to get my Mk1a running again.. cheers matey.. its finally off my driveway!
