I read it was £100 for the hardware and £40 for the game for the 360...
Is that not still the case or is it just dearer for the PS3?

I hate price rigging that goes on in the UK - TBH thats a shocking price for a game. I wouldnt buy it at that price, TBH wouldnt buy it full stop.

Think its crazy for a game company to make a game which you need to buy other bits for before you can use it properly. Thats like buyign a car and then finding out that the wheels and engine are extra's

If they cant sell it for a sensible price they shouldnt make it.

Yeah ive seen this also at play but there is limited stock for 360 and none for wii,ps2,ps3

GF went into Zavvi today and they are selling the instument pack for GBP 180,and then another 50 for the game so thats GBP230 in zavvi this is for the 360

So if you still must get anally raped get it done by play or like me vote with your wallet, The yanks are getting the lot for $149= GBP75  so if you go to zavvi you can get it 3 times over

Although If you go on ebay ive seen US versions for ps3 go for GBP 150 and this has been games already in uk for dispatch

I wont be buying it full stop. Insane waste of money unless you always play 3 or 4 player games.

Although I did dream I had it last night.

Although.......

I believe you can play this just with one instrument?
I already have a guitar so could just buy it for all the new songs on it, like another guitar hero? :-k

To clarify:

Les Paul from 360 GH3 WILL work with RB, in both guitar and bass mode.
Les Paul from PS3 GH3 WILL NOT work with RB, whatever you do with it.

Differing Bluetooth standards on Activision's behalf has been the cause of choice pimped around by various members of the RB team. I don't know about the GH2 Explorer, but I would guess not. I'll find out next week anyway (got the entire package for less than £130 from Play.com using a discount code). If it gets as much play out of me as GH2 did then it'll be well worth it, and being from Harmonix it'll be a hell of a lot better than the tripe that was GH3.

I hear ya
I'm not interested in the band aspect of it any way. I've also heard a rumour that Guitar Hero will be a band game too in the future.

So what? All games over here are more expensive than in the US, but then again we earn twice as much as they do so it's swings and roundabouts. Are you not going to buy any games ever again because they're available elsewhere for less?

I'm a huge fan of the 'music on consoles' kind of games: I've played more GH and SingStar on the PS2/360/PS3 than any other kind of game in the last 18 months-ish. If I still want to play them, and given that RB has received some fantastic reviews and I fully expect it to be a brilliant experience, then I will happily pay it. GH2 on the 360 was, what, £70 on release? Given that that had but one peripheral and RB has three including a huge xxxx-off drum kit, it suddenly starts to seem more reasonable. The extra increase in costs is likely to be down to the actual manufacture of the instruments: If done in Europe it'll cost more due to increased labour rates, and if still made in the US you've got import costs involved instead.

As for the DLC, I have no argument for the extra cost there at all. Maybe to stop the US market moaning that we'd technically be getting them half-price if ours were 80 MS points? That said, I still don't feel that even 160 MS points is extravagant, and I'll only be choosing the songs I like anyway (much like I already do for SS on the PS3).

GTA4 costs £40, yet given how incredible it is I'd have paid twice that for it and still felt like I got my money's worth. If Rock Band is rubbish, then I'll feel cheated. If it's as good as I hope, then I'll consider it a bargain.
