ERROR CODE 42

was driving mt tubbie there and just before i stopped my engine light went on i checked the ecu and it flashed out 42 i checked it up and says its speedo problem but every thing works fine any help please

its a late rev2 mate any ideas

it will mean you have no speed input signal to ecu if your speedo is a cable there is a wire from the back of the speedo head wich runs to the ecu

its not a cable speedo its a electric one i fitted a delimiter chip not so long a go but dont think its workin and i am getting the error code

i have had this problem and the car went into a sort of safe mode.

i removed the dashed to exposed the circuit board with the delimiter chip and kph to mph conversion and discovered a dry joint on the circuit. quick touch up with a slodering iron and hey presto.
