lastest pictures of the car..............and before you ask its not going to be in black....
may drive it up to the jap show next weekend as williams wants to give the car a good run with the kit on the car and to let it settle before the real paint job is applied.

looks good try and bring it to japfest so we can get a look in real life. Why have they painted it black then if thats not the final colour?

I believe, although I could be wrong, that black actually gives the best base for candy-style colours. Makes it deeper/richer or something.

I actually like it in black, mind... :-k

Thanks guys......ive taken all my inspiration to having the build from micks build..and fantastic example it is for a replica and also the real trd body fitted cars...plus the history associated with this kit.

I am no expert but i think i was told black will show any inperfections more so than any other colour , dont think its to do with the base coat though geoff for the candy colour.
actually the rear arch is still needing blocking and the rear boot lid extention....dont think it shows in the pictures as you can still see the joint lines but i know will still needs to finish this off.
will' actually applied this coat himself , and its as smooth as a baby's bum.
rather did a good spray ..
but i cant wait for dave to apply his years of experience to the finished touches....
i will try my hardest to bring it to the show..but there is a crack in the front passenger side window screen . dont know how that happened ...but it does distract from the car.....

funny enough my windscreen also crack without going anywhere, I think the crack is cause by pressure on the body chasis, my crack appear from 10 cm driver side base windows may be a t bar comment fault ?

Same tinh happened to me when i was having my TRD conversion done, they had the car jacked up for quite some time and the windscreen cracked,so its quite obvious there is a bit of chassis flex on the T-Bar MR2s

well that makes me number 3... so there must be something in what you say guys about having the car jacked up for a long time...with the tbars.
looks like a fault associated with the car ...
there was no way that anything was drop on the car...plus the crack seems to have apeared from the base up about 12 inches on passenger side...so may still be legal to drive..
may try and see if i can get an insurance fix on this if i can......im sure they cover the window screen.

Not sure how much original bodywork was unbolted/cut away whilst it was jacked up....but don't forget all cars are designed as a complete structure and anything removed will cause additional lack of rigidity.

When I visited the BMW factory in March I saw the cars being welded together and it's astonishing how floppy the basic structures are before it's all stitched together. :-k

Wise choice M8 heard some right horror stories from car sprayers, they ended up spraying the whole side of the car just for the sake of a scratch.I also was going down this route when building my TRD glad i didn't, have advised Carl but knowing him he won't take any notice lol

Hi Mick........with consideration..i will not go for the candy........as the car will be a everyday drive and not a show car as such.........
so going for a new ferrari red colour.....the new colours are more deeper.
so may still give that deep candy look.......well fingers crossed

regards carl....
