No its doesn't look the same. Check out the comparision on gametrailers....PLUS you've got another 6 months of work to go into it yet!

Brand new physic's engine and Unreal 3 engine going into it.

Frankly, i'd be amazed if anything got near to eclypsing GTAIV.

ANY game released this Nov'-Feb' might as well not bother as Gears2 will wipe the floor with them. I heard about 5 people alone say that they are gona be buying 360's in Nov just for Gears2.

As Sam's already said, Gears is STILL one of the most highly played games on Xbox Live and will be untill Gears2 is released.

GTA4 is excellent, it really is, but it doesn't appeal to everyone.

True. I know GTA4 is gona be damn hard to beat on any platform but dont underestimate the fan base of Gears...its MASSIVE!
