I run 255 on the rear but BFG drag radials on the strip on stock rims

Another question relating to big power builds is which revision engine to start with?

I'm aware of some differences between heads that meant the rev3+ can accept higher lift cams although the rev1-2 heads can be easilly modified so this probably isn't a big problem.
Also, the early rev3 blocks are meant to be thin walled but this was apparently corrected for later batches.
Are there any other differences?

I'm guessing that rev4+ is the best option but rev1-2 probably aren't too bad
(just need to sort out head).
Rev 3 could be ok but i might end up with a thin wall version so a bit more risky.

Does that sounds right?

Are there any differences between rev1 and rev2?

All this talk about thick wall, has anybody found out exactly what the actual differance is and does it make the block more reliable.I mean what is the actuall differance in thickness, is it micro mm or 0.5mm
.

What you should be asking is is there such a thing as a thick or thin walled block at all

Pretty sure that was confirmed by Dino some years back.
He measured up his
(failed) rev3 block and cf to a rev2, I can't remember the difference but he thought it considerable.

I know someone who's been through 20 or so blocks including early rev 3's and can't find any noticeable differences.
i've measured about 5 so far,
we've got a topnotch ultrasonic scanner, and i can't find any difference what so ever so far.

Need to find a failed one, I seem to remember it was suspected as a batch issue.

LOL OK.
Maybe a search might throw something up, but am positive it was Dino who first mentioned this.
