and the load times would of been stupid.

u dont seem to get my point.

the 360 runs exactly the same game and it DOESNT NEED TO INSTALL!

rockstar can complain all they want but the fact is they made the game run without needing a HD install.

ive never said that HDs arent gonna be helpful in the future. altho how much does GTA install?

lost installed 4gb so it must be more than that. so thats what, about 8 games you can fit on the standard HDD? and thats without demos or anything else.

and yea thats great, you can buy a bigger HD. that means extra cash tho and for the majority of console owners, chaging a HDD isnt a simple task. then theres the extra cash that needs to be spent.........

basically i think theyve both shot themselves in the foot. sony with a too slow drive and the 360 without bigger media.

What is it then?

If the PS3 had stayed with dated and easily piratable media (DVD) would the PS3 really need such a big HDD that games rely on?

Sony wanted to try and stay ahead of the pirates like the PS2 did by switching from CD (PS1) to DVD. New forms of media always make it harder and more expensive for the pirates at first until it's broken and prices fall.

GTAIV installs 3.4gb which isn't bad considering Everybody's Golf installs nearly 5. GT5P installs over 6. I have 11 games and 9 of them have done installs ranging in sizes, Add a few other bits i have on there my 60gb has 18gb left at the moment. Not something i'm worried about TBH as i'll simply remove the game data for stuff i'm not playing anymore if i need more room before i decide to upgrade th HDD.

u will probably find it installs the files in a compressed format, once the game is loaded it un compresses the data and then compresses it when its taken out again. i no for a fact warhawk does this

But Sam something you seem to be missing is..... Sony didnt put a slow dvd drive in there they put in a BLU-RAY drive, Something the 360 is also missing

Quite a sweeping statement. I guess you cannot please everyone all the time. Care to elaborate?

In all honesty I've never been a GTA series fan and I was hoping this would change all that. Sadly it's just the same thing again, albeit a much nicer looking version of the same thing.

I'm sure some people love the game, but as you say, you can't please everyone.

I don't think you have a point.

The only reason GTA doesn't install on the Xbox hard drive is because Bill et al. won't allow it and as such you suffer slower load times as a result.

They made the game run without a HDD install because they had no choice!

This is all because of the 360 Core version not having a HDD.

I can't say that i'm particularly struggling for HDD space at the moment. Still have 33GB left and there are no doubt a few trailers and demos i can lose to increase that further. So its not an issue. Upgrading to a bigger HDD is not an issue anyway.

lol i dnt think ive ever been quoted so much.

Andy, i never said anything about what your on about. Im talkin to lauren about gta.

I dnt deny that bluray is a great feature to hav, jus a shame that sony havent made it so its much help. The best thing they did is include a hdd with every console.

The fact that all the games run fine on the 360 is proof that bluray isnt bein utilized YET.

Lauren, il keep it simple. If rockstar didnt hav the hdd install the game wud hav bad popup and long loading times.

The 360 version DOESNT need a hdd and doesnt suffer from any of the problems the ps3 would.

apparently they get a bit better fella.

its the running that p1$$e$ me off. cant believe they made it so you have to tap the button. pushing it would of been bad enough in a game where you spend most of ya time running away from police or running after other people lol.

In all fairness it's piracy that sells a console nowadays, Not that i condone any of that kind of stuff.

Early rumors for Drake claimed it needed to dump 5gb. The final release doesn't install a thing

Always has and always will, If an iso loader ever happens for the PS3 it will be interesting to see what happens to sales figures.
