Attach a trickle charger, ideally a 3 stage charger.
It will monitor the condition of the battery and top up the voltage as required.
You don't have to buy an expensive one, I have seen trickle chargers from £10 upwards, they typically are around 0.6amp, okay for keeping it topped up not really any good if your battery has been allowed to go flat.
Better 3 stage chargers wil charge a flat battery in a reasonable amount of time.

If you have a trickle or 3 stage charger then you can leave it connected all the time.
I use 2 different ones, a std trickle charger and a Ctek XS7000.
The trickle charger does it's job and keeps it topped up, the Ctek is a bit overkill for just conditioning it has other features suitable for AGM batteries and sulphation recovery.

Consider one of those solar power trickle chargers off eBay for £12.
I've been using one for a while now as I don't drive my car during the week and it does the job. Best of all it doesn't cost anything to run. ;)

I use an 'OptiMate' charger/conditioner for my bike - works really well and has stopped me having to by a new battery every spring ](*,)

Oh, moved to electrical by the way :thumleft:
