only reason i bought GTA. i mite end up playing the missions eventually for the achievements but the all weapons cheat is all i need for now. :)

Mark is like that, but i don't generally like cheats. They are okay for a mess about on the odd occasion but really I prefer to have at least completed most of the game before i'd even think about it.

I enjoy the challenge of the missions and find that playing it that way teaches you how to play the game and improve your skills.

Anyways, up to you.

Gotta agree I once put a cheat in on san andreas when I was drunk  and it crapped out my game and corrupted the game, dont know how this happened but it kept coming up cheats found gameplay has been compromised  I could never complete the game after that.

Lauren, jus because the PS3 installs doesnt mean the 360 version loads any slower at all.

it jus means the bluray drive was too slow to read the disc so they had to do it.

all the new GTA cheats can void achievements (if you had them) but i jus dont save my game and then if i do wanna play it properly then i can do.

and yes, it is up to me. :thumleft:

That would really p*ss me off! Waiting to install every game you put in. No thanks.

You only do it once.

What about when you get your downloadable content from Xbox lives, do you not have to install it?

I really don't get what your issue is. Isn't it a stupid oversight on the Xbox that it doesn't utilise the hard disk (because not all have one).

So basically i wait for 7 mins for it to install to the HDD. Then for the next 200hours of gameplaying I wait half the time you do for cutscenes to load and the like.

Think i'd rather do the waiting (well all 7 mins of it) in one go thanks.

Aren't PCs annoying? Poxy MS Office, I had to spend a few minutes installing it - I'd much rather have to wait for it to load up from DVD everytime.

The PS3 loads quicker. We know that. The reason why is because it uses the HDD.

Xbox doesn't use the HDD because not all XBox's have them. If they did you can be pretty sure they would have utilised the HDD.

Do it. I boot windows from CD everytime i switch my laptop on and run all my programs from floppy disks, I know it isn't the quickest method but you should see all the free gigs my HD has \:D/

blue2 wrote:Anyone finding that the framerate lags when there is loads happening on screen. Ive heard about it on the 360 but Im getting it on my ps3, framerate is nowhere near as good as burnout paradise, great game though.

Yup and it only runs at 30fps but not surprising really as the GTA games have a huge amount of stuff going on. Burnout Paradise is silky smooth at 60fps.

I'm warming to it a bit more now. The story at the beggining didn't grab me the way San Andreas did. It does look very impressive though and i had a good laugh last night when i came out of the pub pi$$ed with cousin and was falling all over the place and later spectacularly destroyed a petrol station when i decided to leave a flaming taxi on the forecourt.

Hmmmmm, Tries to remember from earlier games. Is the Blista the one that looks like the old CRX :-k

I'm sure i saw something that looked like an old 911 last night too but by the time i'd handbraked and slid 5 blocks to give chase it had dissapeared.

but the PS3 HAS to use the HDD otherwise it wouldnt of worked.

the 360 runs basically exactly the same game and they didnt NEED to install to the HD.

and as for what goto said. i bought my console so i could plug it in and play. PCs are totally diffferent so that was a pretty daft comment.

plus you still need the disc in to play on a console.

Do you not understand that the HD is a huge boon? It's such a simple concept to grasp - it reduces load times in-game.
Rockstar say the game experience is better with an HD and wanted to use it with the Xbox but couldn't because of the base unit sans hard drive - here's Rockstar president having another gripe about it:

Microsoft will soon need to address the issue of Xbox 360 storage limitations, according to Rockstar president Sam Houser.

Speaking in an interview about the hardware difficulties the developer encountered when making Grand Theft Auto IV, Houser stressed that a lack of storage space on Xbox 360 discs and Microsoft's non-mandatory hard drive strategy were problematic.

They had to work around the problem and run straight from the disk, less than ideal, the PS3 could have been made to run straight from the disk too (had Sony released a bare bone model without a hard drive), but why settle for that when you can cache to a hard drive that is available in all consoles in that platform?

and as for what goto said. i bought my console so i could plug it in and play. PCs are totally diffferent so that was a pretty daft comment.

plus you still need the disc in to play on a console

I'm sure (well, I hope...) you understand the basic point being made

DAFL to what Steve (Goto10) says.

I just can't believe that the flawed fanboi argument of Sam is clouding what is bloody obvious!

Sam your argument is beyond weak. :-:

How can you not see the advantage of every console having a HDD and utilising that. As Steve points out, Bill et al. have effectively shot themselves in the foot with their insistence for all their games to run without the benefit of the HDD.

Quite a sweeping statement. I guess you cannot please everyone all the time. Care to elaborate?
