Turning to the dark side????

I'm really thinking of selling up my PS3 and getting a 360. Don't get me wrong.. I LOVE my PS3, but I'm not a hard core gamer. In fact the only game I play is COD4. And this is just as good on the 360.
More recently more of my mates have bought the 360 and thus wanting me to play with them.. So should I sell??

Play are currently doing a deal for the premium 360 and GTA4 for £200. Plus COD4 £40 inc map pack and £35 online subscription, I could be up and running with the best 2 games for £275. I'm sure my PS3 would sell for that on ebay?( 40g 2 controllers, cod4, warhawk, fifa08, GT5 and superman blueray)?

So a couple of questions to the 360 lot?

What's the different between the premium and the elite? Do you get a HDMI connection and cable with the premium.?

What do you think? I'm so undecided

Ok, premium comes with 20gb hard drive, elite comes with 120gb hard drive. They both have HDMI output but only the Elite comes with an actual HDMI lead. Although if your not fussy you can get HDMI leads for peanuts.

Neither play HD films out of the box and as you may know. HD is all but dead now.

We own a Elite and it gets about 4 hours of week play and its started to freze up in games so im expecting the red ring of death, Its my GF's machine I own a ps3 and im so glad i do weve only had the 360 for 3 months its had at most 48 hours use it stands on a shelf upright besides my ps3,ps2 and wii and they all get more use from me and the gf,

I think Thai,Matt and sam will be along to say that im the mad one and im talking balls but you know ive tried to give the 360 a chance even though I didnt like the reliability issues, now Im peed off

well ive tried a PS3 and i sold it last week!!

there is and will be for a while yet, more games on the 360.

the ps3 was fun but everything it did, the 360 does better.

yea theres hardware fault and you hear about them alot (your not gonna get people posting my 360 works fine tho are ya) but that is supposed to be sorted now and apart from bluray, the ps3 doesnt really have anything to offer.

(that comment excludes Burnout Paradise which was developed by Criterion for EA and the PS3 was lead platform for a change)

Andy, played the demo for Burnout on both, both the same to me!

I'm not speaking for Sam and Thai, just me, as an owner of both. The 360 is better.

Have it for PS3 but played more on 360 at mates and i can't see what seperates them, A very well polished game on both systems.

The makers claim the 360 benefited from the PS3 being the lead platform and it ported better, The artical i read went into a load of architectural mumbo jumbo about the hardware and why porting this way was better.

TBH I dont think its worth selling a whole console for, unless you have a LOT of friends playing the 360. A few of my m8s have 360 but some have PS3.....I wouldnt bother changing as you getting rid of a better console, however if you are interested in a 2nd hand 360 which has hardly been used PM me


Not suprisingly we have Sam, Matt and Thai in here again...starting to see a trend here...they are paid by Microsoft to take down PS3.

I love starting a 360 ps3 fight.. haha.

I think that although at the moment the 360 is lookig appealing, in the end I'll regret getting rid of the ps3.

Might give it a week or so and see how I feel about it...

The other option is to get a second hand 360, but then the red lights kinda worries me about that, cos second hand I'm screwed really..

Life would be so much easier if all consoles were on the same servers! haha

I found a new annoyance with the PS3 lately. Those god awful touch buttons on the console.
It doesnt seem to want to let me turn the damn thing off with the power "button"

Thai's just angry that he backed the wrong console. Biggest 360 fanboy on imoc... end of.

It says something when you can pick up 360's on ebay cheaper than ps2's...... there a dying console, unless you've already got one thats dead.

I really hate these arguments of which is better, but i get pulled in everytime, I've had both and at the moment the 360 has the better games but that dont make it a great console. Its built cheap and is cheap.... If you had a pc that overheated all the time you simply wouldnt stand for it yet these fan boys cover all this up by saying, yeah but aint gears of war great. It would be even better if you could get to the end with just one console.

I wouldn't sell my ps3 to buy a 360, no way no how.... I would however buy one second hand for around 70 quid just so i could have a quick thrash on forza 2, i really did like that.

you talk like all 360's alway die all the time. I got 2 YEARS out of mine . They're by no means great but not as bad as you think. I bet ps3's die with that time scale too? Well it's early doors yet i guess. Any way, carlos, my advice, have both. 360's are so cheap now it's silly not to.

Errr the games make the console. No point buying something that lasts forever if you dont use it. And i dont think the discussion is regarding which console lasts longer.
The 360 is poor build quality yes, which is bad but a console is only as good as its games.

And as for all this fanboy nonsense, its stupid. Especially as people like Thai are old enough and should know better!!!!
To be honest tho i prefer the Sony consoles, but not because of the systems, i simply prefer the titles available for them. Although i still have neither 360 or PS3.
