[Mk2] [Turbo] Paddle clutch... VERY noisy!

Post by ferrit »

Hi all,

My rev2 Turbo has a paddle clutch, and it makes a grinding noise all the time the pedal is pressed. Even if you slightly press the pedal it makes the noise ... best way I can describe it is like a cat being strangled Rolling Eyes

Anyone have any ideas what it might be, i'm assuming it shouldn't be making that noise! And more importantly, is there anything I can do about it?

Cheers

Are you sure it's not a twin plate clutch, they make a grinding rattle when pedal is depressed, if it is a paddle clutch sounds like the release bearing might be on it's way out

Ferrit, I think it is a twin plate.. call Norman or Ash @ AutoBMC and ask them, they will def know as they put it in. Its made the noise ever since it was put in.

I have a twin plate clutch and it makes a rattly noise as well. Seems to be 100% normal :thumleft: . Only thing is it sounds like your car is fooked but it gives you the chance to brag about your twin plate clutch when your describing what the noise is "Yea, thats just my twin plate racing clutch, means I can do extremely fast take offs and not realy have to worry about the clutch slipping / burning out"  :thumleft:

I haven't got one in the 14 atm.. need to get that sorted this weekend, the noise of the exhaust alone is doing my head in already  :)
