Theres a cracking supermarket 10 minutes away called Leclerc's, you can buy just about anything in there including cars!!
Top notch place and extremely cheap, lots of different beers, wines, cider's, champers, etc

24 pack of stubbies 5% abv beer - £3 for example, food, cheese, etc all quite cheap compared to rip off Britain prices.

There also another supermarket on the way back from the track, not as big but handy for all the essentials, beer!!!

Take abslutely nowt and buy everything there and leave it, tables, chairs, etc, make sure you take camping stove gas cartridges as they don't seem to have these over there for some reason.

LESS than 8 weeks now!!

Yes you can have your own electrical hook up, think its about £5 per day, you need to pre book this with the chateau before you go.

Just bring the basics, tent, sleeping equipment, gas stove, basic utensils, suncream, clothes, camera, batteries for camera plus spare card.

Don't forget your outdoor game, I'm bringing lawn darts!!

Me to mate but apparently not, according to the french anyway, trouble is that my better half has not received a british passport yet and she needs it to convince the frogs to let her in, bit gutted is an understatement, just means we will have to go again next year

I've been looking at this recently. My insurance doesn't include any breakdown cover as standard, so I took a quick scout around the usual, RAC, AA, Green Flag, Britannia. Some wanted well over £150 just for the week :o

There does seem to be a surcharge on cars over 10 years with must recovery companies. I did find this lot who seemed quite cheap: http://www.vehicle-rescue.com/ came out as £39 for the trip. However they don't touch vehicles older than 14 years, so not much use for you MK1 guys. Also haven't gone through their T&Cs yet.

Then I rang my insurance company and they said they could add it on for the trip for £37, despite their website saying they wouldn't offer euro cover on cars older than 10 yrs. I queried this with the telephone person who said that was incorrect, so go figure.

Just my 2p!

3 more for the party:

jasper (Paul Lucas) + 2 friends (Tim Wood & Andy Lennox). Please add to the list.

We won't be in MR2's but still a Toyota, all travelling down in a RAV4 :D

We're getting the ferry (Dover - Boulogne) on the Wed 11th and returning on the Mon 16th. We've been on about it for ages but never actually done anything about it so I've just booked camping with Dom (and had a reply)and so, we'll be with you reprobates. Hopefully Tim will get his finger out and book the ferry tomorrow  These two are drinkers so be prepared to down shots

Not got any tickets, is it ok to buy on the gate or do they sell out? We just want general admission, not bothered about grandstand seats.

Updated list:

1. Michael & Joanne Sheavills
2. Shane & Susan Watt
3. Jinxy
4. Gordon & Alison Moffett
5. Peter Hartley & Reema
6. John Griffith (toxo) & Chris Goldsmith (non-member) - MK2 Turbo

What else are people traveling in? I presume a lot of MK1s? That might leave me as the only one needing to stop for petrol every 5 minutes :D

Paul,

Don't forget to pre book your white car park ticket. Its a bit late so they might all have gone by now. Ring just tickets and see if they have any left.

As you are bringing the RAV4 do you think you would be able to bring a gazeebo, that would mean we have 3...

Cheers good to have you guys along.... drinking shots?!!? not of that nany stuff, get some of Frogees home brew down ya, or the Desperado from the local supermarket, headblowing stuff....

Exactly, just make sure you don't miss the race, it has been known!!

They sell the BIG bottles of the stuff in the big supermarket for about £1.50 or a pack of 6 for about £4, asking for it really aren't we.

Anyone out of practise should start now!!
