Removal of Premium Sound System

Post by JohnA »

Hi All

I have a new set-up installed and have bypassed all of the existing amps/sub-box's but they are still in there purly because I couldn't get the ariel working without turning on the amps.

Ideally I would like to get rid of the amps all together, anyone got any idea how to wire up the electric ariel on it's own?

Cheers

Take a look at:
http://www.btinternet.com/~netsurf/mr2t ... iring2.gif

you will find details of the antenna wiring... may be easier to run a new wire back there and join the 'amp' and 'ant' signals

Cheers, I'll give that a try BEFORE I rip the amps out :D

Short of running another wire to the aerial couldn't you just disconnect all the speakers left in your car not attached to the toyota amp?

I got a similar challenge with my car.

That's what Ive done at the moment, the amps are only there to work the ariel. I'm not using them so I would rather take them out. I'll let you know how I get on.
