[Mk2] [Turbo] How to sell my car? As is or in bits?

Post by Matty_GTS »

I think the time has finally come to move on and sell my tubby!! The question is what is the best way to get the most money... I paid 6k for it 3 years ago and since then have spent well over 10k with reciepts on it.

Now im not sure what i should ask for it as it is modified? Any suggestions? I do know that i can probably get at least 3k for the parts alone if i strip them off and make the car more basic...

The car;

95 Rev 3 GTS Turbo (Very Good Condition!!)
Carribean Blue
64,000 Miles
MOT till April 09
Tax till Oct 08
Booked in for new water pump, cam belt with all pullies, tensioners etc at end of month.
280bhp at the wheels with Power FC already fitted waiting to be mapped.

The mods list goes on forever but i'll be brief.

HKS intake, Phoenix Power I/C inc. Hardpipes, Greddy Type S BOV, Full Samco Hoses, Iridium spark plugs, GTS Chriss 3" Downpipe, Phoenix Power Departure II Exhaust, Blitz SBC Boost Controller, Rouge Spal fan lid, OS Giken Twin Plate Clutch (10k old), ATS Racing CV joints, Poly Bushes, Stiffened Engine Mounts, Apexi N1 Pro Coilovers, Cusco adustable tie rods, Cusco Front & Rear Strut Braces, Pagid Fast Road Break Pads Front & Rear, Enkie RC5 Lightweight alloy wheels 8jx17 & 9jx17, Border front bumper, toms sideskirts, phoenix power rear spats, Alpine headunit, Infinity kappa speakers, 3 gauge pillar pod inc. boost, oil temp & pressure gauges,

Thats pretty much all of the bits that i can think of ...

Anyone got a price that i should consider asking?

Thanks

Definately return the car to standard mate, you will lose too much otherwise :(

I know it will take slightly longer to see the cash but well worth it in the end.

Make a list of the lowest you will take on all the parts, work out a sensible price for the car and you'll be surprised how much you'll get back :thumleft:

loads of work involved in breaking, how much do you think your time is worth?
Just put as many of the standard parts back on and sell the car as a whole.

I personally would only break a car if it's crashed damaged, has a forged engine worth as much as the car as a whole, or there is some mechanical
fault that is alot of work to repair.

Good luck :thumleft:

just rough prices on what they may be worth depending on condition etc...

then you can sell the car for £4000 or so as it will still have the bodykit etc...

just something to think about... :thumleft:

Exactly what i was thinking mrtee... sorry i shouldn't have used the word breaking, i ment splitting the mods from the standard motor...

Think i will leave kit on + possibly hks intake and exhaust and the stock shocks i have with lowering springs then sell like that.

Most of the bits are easily swapped back, only pain would be the I/C and downpipe... downpipe can be left as it's already been welded once so not really worth time and effort!

It seems such a shame to do it to my pride and joy but i guess its the only way im going to get the most money back to buy my Evo 9!!
