[Mk2] [Generic] taking the plunge, please give me an opinion...

Post by Martin F »

i know I've been here before, sorry

the wheels are showing some corrosion and curb marks so im going to the hassle of removing them to get them sorted and sprayed...

I've seen the chromed version and they looked really good(all the same colour as in my version they are silver/grey)

i was thinking about spraying them gold and maybe painting the studs silver or gold and leaving a silver lip... :?

any other suggestions totally welcomed but no dark colours... :thumleft:

would gold look ok with the car... :?

what about a titanium finish, all the different colours, oh, and yes ive been close to buying new wheels but im just going to stick with these because i'm sick of all the money im wasting...

respray will cost me nothing so paint will be my only cost...

Azz, if your about, feel free to photoshop a colour...

thanks peeps :thumleft:

when i first bought them and in there polished state they did look good but due to there deterioration I'm forced into the situation of taking some action...so you think silver before gold... :-k

I can't see gold wheels working personnally....

Gold wheels to me are a definate 'rally' thing, so they only really suit cars that have that rally image to them; scoobys and evos etc. MR2's don't exactly make a regular appearance in the WRC.

How about silver, with the insides of the spokes/lip colour coded to the car.

Or a combination of white and polished; always works well on a red car.

thanks for the opinions, im going to forget about gold, my mate has an escort cossie and has just bought a new wheel....£250

it was sprayed in a flaky silver but from certain angles the wheels look white, well smart and the best of both worlds.....just need to find out what the paint is... #-o

thanks, will post pics in a few weeks... :thumleft:

the wheels really do look good as they are :thumleft: leave the grey bits as they make the wheels look bigger.
