The sun was out. My Rev1 N/A

As the sun was shining, I thought I'd take a couple of quick photos of the car.

All it needs is a wash, lowering (alot) and the undertray bolting back up as it seems to have fallen off. The is probably due to the brand new speed bump I discovered on my street the other day.

Looking good for the age dude... exactly how old is it now? My dec '89 car is lowered on fensport 30mm springs, there are pics in my garage that show how it sits now. You can't beat a decent rev1... no pas, no abs, no lsd, no s**t.

It's 1990 so 18 year old. Sorted the undertray today, getting my blowing manifold sorted in the morning.

Suspension next, then brakes.

Looks loads better mate.
What's next for the brakes? I'm considering a full rev2 set up with yellowstuff pads and braided lines but at £350, even inc. fitting it's not cheap. Still, it's nice to be able to stop!
Any other plans for it?

Cheers Rob, I too am considering the Rev2 plus set up with briaded lines. My brakes are really on their last legs. Means I'm driving very sensible these days as I don't trust my brakes.

My plans... Well, change my front drivers side wing, as it's had it. Brakes, as I've said, and possibly a tubby transplant! I've got a nasty oil leak from the rocker cover gasket, so thats a must. Trying to get hold of some leather recaros from a Saff Cossie or something to go in after I make up some subframes.

I've also got some nice clear indicator lenses to go in my rear clusters, which should look good. Some clear side repeaters would be a must then.

I'm also thinking of doing the timing mod, to advance it by 1 tooth on the cambelt, as I want to change the belt anyways. Aside from that it's going great! Tremendous little cars the MR2s!

What about you mate? Any plans?

I got these pics earlier as I gave it a wax and put some tyre shine on! lol

Thats looking loads better now it's lower. I'm just planning the brakes at the mo mate. Then nothing else till the engine finally goes bang and then it's a V6 for me if the chassis and body is still sound (which it seems to be), possibly a respray in green and a seat retrim at the same time.
I had to sort a leaking rocker cover also but since done it's been fine. Still uses a fair bit of oil (about 1ltr every 2k) but then it has for the entirety of the 102k I've been running it.

Yeah, the rocker seems a simple job. I was thinking V6, but I'd never be satisfied with it. My engine has 120k on it now, and has been using a bit of oil. Bit of knock on startup too which is a worry.

I want recaros as I have been sat in them in some form of fast(ish) ford since I was 17. And my ar$e is used to the feel of them ha ha.

I have to keep my colour, as it's called Nautical Blue, and I am a big dirty sailor

nice motor dude, like the colour. just a quick heads up, it's very possible that your big end shells are on they're way to being boobs up. shells will cost around £95 quid from toyota and shouldn't take too long to fit if you know what you're doing. :thumleft:

I'm an engineer, so trust me, changed sooooo many bearing shells over the years could probably do it in my sleep.

As it's now on Auto Trader and on Pistonheads for sale, I thought I'd take a few wee pics to say goodbye.

Going to miss it, it's been a great car. Most reliable car I've had!
