A mate of mine in a 500bhp RX7 has found the best solution to tailgaters which he demonstrated to me one night when a saxo was sitting so far up his ar$e you couldn't see his lights..... It's simple really..... Just do a massive rolling burnout and cover the saxo in rubber and xxxx off the road he carried on driving down the road looked in the rear mirror to see the saxo had stopped where it was lol :thumleft:

A 500BHP RX7 takes a lot of money to make, and your mate has just put unessential where and tare on his Apex Seals, Turbo/s, Clutch, Gearbox, Drive Shafts, Diff, and ripped 4 months of use off his tyres. he has also caused damage to the road surface which over time causes the pot holes nearly everyone on here had driven into.

Next time tell him to just tap the brakes  and carry on is way, Cheaper for him, better for us

Alternatively if your a smoker with a full ashtray.... tipping it out of the window while sweeping past their front to get a nice dispersal would work extremely well..... lol no i have not done this but I can imagine the horror of the no doubt anti smoking person behind

I'm j/k ... this is far too nasty to do to a car lol

Not really a huge amount when you're running the 20B engine and taken 4 months off his tyres? lol his normally don't even last half a week #-o

But its still an amount, if he wants to put his engine at risk like that fair to play to him, but if i was a Saxo driver and he did that to me i would just plant the car right into the back of his and "Your mate" would be at fault

"Yes officer he did a burn out for no good reason and covered the road in smoke, i could not see a thing and went right into the back of him, i cant understand why somone would do that, now look at the state of my car..."

Your mate would have his asre handed to him. and there would be 11's down the road to prove he did it.

Careful as there arer people that would do it to him.

Like i said, just tap the brakes to say "go away" or do what i do and just stop in the middle of the road, then set off again, if they do it again i stop for longer and longer until they get it.

Oh and if his tyres last a week then your mate needs to learn how to drive, or get his tracking sorted out

I can't really see an insurance company paying out... more likely to say "you should have had your distance"

With You Mate doing a Burnout in the middle of the road, they would throw the book at him, If you cant see brake lights your not at fault, if they were obscured through smoke its not your fault.

I'm not arguing about it, your mate obviously has issues that only he can resolve by picking on people that get to close to him, is he bothered by lads close to his rear?, lets leave it there

How can it not (at least partly) be the fault of the person who is driving beyond their visibility?
If they were at a safe distance they wouldn't have hit anything. Impaired visibility means you slow down, not drive into anything and everything then claim that's all OK because you couldn't see sh!t #-o

If someone is tail-gating me I either:-
1) slow down - it's brilliant, it's the right thing to do AND it winds the oiks up no end! (ok, once or twice on motorway I've then employed tactic two, slotted in behind them and returned them the favour )
2) drop a gear or two, hit VTEC on full clog, rev to redline. Tail-gaters mostly don't have cars they care about, therefore only very, very rarely can they match my Preludes acceleration and rev-limit, let alone your tubby's.

The faster my car is, it seems the more sensible I drive it... so I'll probably drive a Tubby like a mum drives her Corsa

Few things i would do,

1. slow down to around 20mph then boot it if he tries to overtake
2. slow down n leave himto it
3. boot it anyway so he dont get the pleasure of doin somethin stupidin the first place
4. im thinkin maybe some hidden rear main beams to blind the c**ts

think twice then wont they hehe

Or just pull over at the next convieniant place and let him go past. Why risk him slamming into your ar$e just to prove a point. Just let the idiot go and carry on with your journey in peace.

I sometimes get this in my MR2. We have a lot of country lanes here, and whilst being quite open they are speed camera magnets. 40 / 30 mph limits enforced by radar guns and static cameras. I've unfortunately been caught twice since moving here doing 6mph more than I should have been. As you can imagine, there is no way Im going to speed down there now (9 points Im on) and there is little in the way of places to pull over and safely let someone past.
The best thing I have found, and it depends how nasty I am feeling & how much of an idiot the person behind is being, is to either drive in towards the kerb or out towards the middle of the road. Basically Im aiming for the bit where all the little stones are laying about.
R888's love picking up stones and launching them up behind me. SiMarshy's MR2 found that out on a trip to Nurburg (Sorry mate!! )
Had a merc RIGHT up behind me for ages. I just drifted out towards the middle of the road a bit and it was amazing how fast that merc backed off and stayed backed off :D

I think your knowledge of the law is a little off-target...

There are only very few occasions under the RTA/driving law where the person in front is at fault for being shunted in the rear - I can assure you right now that if someone drives merrily through smoke and hits a car, person, whatever, it's still their fault; correct driving procedure denotes you slow down, and if required stop!
