No-one's kncoking the quality of work.

I can appreciate when someone's done a good job fitting a huge plastic spoiler on to a Nova, but that doesn't mean that it looks good.

I was going to say that people who think that it suits the car probably aren't qualified to have an opinion  , but then I saw the pic of the car, and it would appear to suit it down to the ground.

As a mod, it's up there with fake chrome roll cages and neon washer jets. Still, never confuse a popularilty with good taste - just ask a Westlife fan

I've seen far worse attempts at putting a flush filler cap on the car. Like a green one that has it relocated and cut into the side vent by the engine bay...

I think it looks good, but I wouldn't have one.

Good effort, and there aint many MR2s with them on anyway.. so its not like its a Nova etc.. where they ALL have the same mods.

Seem to have opened a can of worms here haven't I

Despite all the comments, I've got to say that me...personally...I still like them (and no i don't wear a Burberry cap before you ask!), and on seeing the pics of clogges car - i think "Uncle Bam Bam" who did the car has done a fine job!! =D>

As for fitting one myself......if I had a spare few hundred quid then I may have thought about it, but its more than I thought and the cash is needed on other parts!

Gutting thing about all this is I was hoping to have my 2 back for Japfest at Castle Comber this weekened....and its not going to be ready ](*,)

Just wanted to add y 2p........

For the Modifying fraturnity amongst us, Chrome Filler Caps are old hat - however on an MR2 they are few & far between, although the more decerning of us would scream at the top of our lungs that you are chavifying your motor my adding such a stock mod (Genrally speaking) - I think the std OE filler cap is unique & sits flush - why change?????

Personalising your MR2 is totally based on taste - if you know your stuff then you'll be happy & onlookers will also share in the asthetics, although there is the flipside....Mr Nove/Saxo!!!!!

I think the cap in itself looks OK. I can see that due to the placement of the filler this doesn't lend itself to an easy job so credit to the guy that made it fit.=D>

Unfortunately....the cap is by far the high point of the mods - the rest of it looks shocking IMO. When the first pics came up I thought hmm..cap looks neat enough, wheels quite nice...can't wait to see the whole car. Sorry but although it's been done to a high standard it just looks like a total mish-mash of bits to me.

Having said that...I still maintain it's anyone's right to do what they like to their car and anyone else's opinion really should not concern them.

Agreed, but I think Michael's original comments were misunderstood by many on here. The problem is that many people seem to jump on the 'I like it too' bandwagon and don't like to express an opinion for fear of retribution.

At the end of the day, I couldn't give a flying toss what people think of the styling of my MR2, and certainly won't start throwing toys out of my pram if anyone tells me so. My ego is robust enough to handle opinions on material possessions.

<rant> I just wish people had more of a backbone on here sometimes and said what they think. Mr Canny does (and is famous for it) and gets slated for expressing his opinion!
It's a great club - but often let down by a severe lack of intelligent discussion and topics filled with quotes on quotes on quotes...or multiple smilies. </rant>
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

I think the "rally car" car style fuel filler cap looks rather nice and just makes the car a little different to the other thousands of MR2s out there which all look the same. Personally I quite fancy one but the amount of money and work which it requires puts me off.

I modify my car for the fun of it and to keep it interesting to me, so as for the fuel cap on the red car I think it looks nice although I must admit other aspects of the car aren't to my liking, however, that's not to say I don't respect what the owners trying to do with her car. How boring would it be if we all had the same stock car, this board would be a tad boring and probably non-existant!!! :D
