IMOC Donations...

Post by vodkaprince »

Hi... possibly a controversial idea but here goes..

We all use and love IMOC in one way or the other and many of us are premium members already.

I am sure a lot more people will extend their membership to the Premium level and will enjoy the benefits of it.

Everyone involved in running, organising and moderating this site do it out of, lets be honest the "goodness of their hearts" they do it because they want to and love doing it. They are doing it for each and every one of us as a community of MR2 owners and or appreciators.

I suggest that if they agree a 'donation' system is set up via something like pay pal to allow anyone of any membership level to make a donation to IMOC that can be used to help pay for running, development and hosting costs. As well as organising and funding events etc.

Personally I would from time to time be happy to donate the odd tenner to help out. Hell I would even be happy to pay a higher membership fee..

Let’s help support IMOC and make sure it gets bigger and better rather then nit picking and trying to find fault with the excellent work that everyone involved in IMOC does.
Fast isnt good enough, scary is acceptable. Terrifying preffered!!

you do pay your membership fee to contribute towards costs yes. Personally I think that it far to cheap myself. I have been involved in car club/events before and the costs and implications resulting from organising any kind of even can very quickly spiral.

I dont think we value the work of the comittee and mods enough and I for onw would like th opportunity to voluntarily donate extra monies on occasion to IMOC. Afer all the more money they can get in the better the site, the forum, the "perks" such as discounts etc will only increase as the site gains in stature and popularity so ultimatly it will help us any way.

Noted. I guess if you *really* wanted to, then you could use the existing Paypal account.

What would be good though would be to donate time in looking at discount schemes, moderating, event organisation etc etc :+:

maybe show accurately what it costs to run this forum and it might be enough to perswade people to donate money to its cause. or not depends how much is left over already ;)
