Santapod Sunday 6th April

Post by Chr15py »

Hi.
Just wondering if anyone is going? I'll be there with a few other MR2s (two of which I'm expecting to be mid 12's) so come and play :D
Should be good as Friday is the first test day of the year and so the big guns may well be still there. I'm just looking to beat my 13.35 run that I did last time...woo hoo!
Cheers
Chris

Hey, is it you with the rear diffuser?
One has 350ish bhp but has never launched before. More than able to do it I think. Link ECU, Radtech chargecooler, ARC airbox, Clutch etc. Put it this way, from a standing start he is gone from me and I got a 13.3. I think it is very possible.
The other has 330 but on a std ECU with a fuel controller and Berk Intercooler. He's expecting to be similar to your time - late 12s.
If it is dry, I will beat my 13.3

Ok, forcast isn't rain...but sleet in the early morning and evening  , typical! Was dry when I originally decided to go.

Will keep you all informed :thumleft:

Yeah the car with the alloy diffuser is mine.

Think both your friends should be a fair bit faster than me then and probably you too with the charge cooler fitted. Hope the weather holds would be good fun with a few other mr2’s up there. (My car is only 219 bhp at the wheels btw).

...yeah but isn't it slightly stripped and have a beasty clutch? :D  Seriouslly though, you must have more than that...
I don't really want to full bore launch it because it is my daily driver, so 13.3 is my fastest time. At the last rolling road I did, on a std intercooler at 1.1bar, it made 286 at the fly - approx 240ish at the wheels and 271ft/lb of torque (fly).

Race ya

No its not striped out, in fact it has a role cage so probably more weight than standard. Its also my daily driver, had a standard clutch but I have now fitted an excedy item (as I did break my old clutch at santa pod last time). Since last time I have now fitted a de cat so should be a tiny bit faster I hope.
Would be cool to race another MR2 if I see you there mate.

Which way you coming up - M11/A14? If so, we're going to be there for 10ish so if you want to, we could join convoys :D

The weather looked good this morning when I woke up today, so went to the pod today instead (sorry) got in a 12.9 on my second run before it started raining.
