On my old rev 3 tubby I had a Fujitsubo Ti. Was full titanium and single exit. VERY VERY light. Sounded quiet unless above 4500 rpm then it started to sing.
After selling for a mere £240 I found out after lots of searching it would have been about £1000 new.

Just taken a departure 2 off to make way for the berk. It will be for sale soon also. Once it has been rust proofed and painted for the new owner.

What you want is anything with a jasma stamp on it, You get alot of these on fresh imports... Big looking exhausts with a slight increase in sound but still quiet.

They are not allowed to be louder than 96db which makes them road legal in japland :thumleft:

I have a Hayward and Scott exhaust (and de-cat), trackday friendly (been to a couple in it and not been turfed out anyway!) and yet it still sounds awesome without being obscenely loud. Still deep enough to set off cheap car alarms in a multi-storey - more a muted rumble, can cruise on a motorway with near-stock levels of noise.
Wasn't cheap but the workmanship is first rate and IMO it's the perfect exhaust note.

ok seem to have EXHAUSTED this subject thanks for all your comments going to wait for a Berk which was my first choice initially from the info i had gleaned from threads.if my footy coupon comes up i will visit Haywards . ps do owners with a Berk have speedhump probs on stock cars ? ive noticed that the big box exhausts ie departure look like they are nearly on the floor!

The Berk has no serious clearance problems, unlike a Dep 2. And, in my humble opinion looks a LOT better because it doesn't hang as low.

The only exhaust I have found quiet for the 2 is the Fujitsubo Legalis R, I had it combined with my extremeboost downpipe and the noise was the same as stock. same for Welsha's Rev3.
This was important to me as I spent half my life on the motorway at the time.

Peter, haven't just won an ebay auction have you?

Jasma exhausts are all approved to be below a certain decibel, Maybe ur baffles have fell out

My nur spec most certainly did not have the jasma stamp.

The fact of the matter is anything with a Jasma stamp should be quiet.

JASMA
Often owners may find 'JASMA' stamped on an aftermarket exhaust that was on their car when they bought it. its some sort of organisation that certifies exhausts meet noise standards etc. It stands for Japanese Automobile Sports Muffler Association.

I have an HKS "Turbo" exhaust system. It's the one with the huge silencer and single exit on the right. It has JASMA on it and it is VERY quiet.

Also my Fujitsubo RM-01A has a JASMA plaque on it, but it's a damn sight louder than the HKS - still pretty quiet, though.

If you can get hold of one Peter, go for the Berk.

The build quiality is better than just about anything in the market, and the sound is to die for. Nice and subtle when cruising/idle, but really sounds the business under load without being too intrusive.

As for ground clearance... see for yourself.
