[Mk3] [Generic] Subwoofer help

Post by Flembo »

I am looking at buying a subwoofer for my roadster and due to the limited space the car has i was wondering if anyone can help me out with what would be the best for my car.
I have been to a car audio shop and they have recommended the Alpine SWE1000 and i was just wondering if this is a very good subwoofer or is there better out there for the space i have.
I would be fitting the subwoofer behind the seats in the small storage area.

Have a look at JL Audio Flembo. They make small subs for small enclosures that kick ass big time :!: :!:

Try the 8 inch W3v3 sub. I went for the 10 incher, but thats because I listen to a variety of differnet music. If you can stretch your budget to JL, then do, as they rock.

Have a look on Ebay as some sellers do ship from the States to the UK. I did a bit of research on prices before I went to the States & this is what I found:

I got a price from an authorised UK dealer, price from an authorised US dealer (Crutchfield), & then looked on Ebay.

SUB 10W3V3

UK: £ 190 US £120 US Ebay: £65

I paid £115 for my sub, (as well as other bits) but thats 'cos I've just got back from Florida 8).

Bear in mind that if you do order from the States, check the shipping costs & be aware that you may have to pay import duties & tax, depending on how the seller labels it up for you (i.e new or secondhand goods  )

Hope this helps :?:
