You was driving a black MR2, 3.0L V6 conversion, had a little chat at the traffic lights.

Lol, it was me.

I went looking for you on your forums, didn't even think to look here.

Nice starlet, .

Really though I didn't stand much of a chance, 275hp sub 900kg's against my 185hp (170,000 miler). Pulling a lardy 1250kg's mk2 t-bar around.

Lol was fun all the same, the white starlet seemed more in my league.

Nope its deffinately a 3.0 ltr v6 lol. Built by woodsport, its a uk t-bar with a stock 3vz-fe produces a healthy 187.7fwbhp (156.4atw). But more interestingly produces 150+ to ftlb's of torque from 2500rpm. So taking into consideration the whole powerband you use while in gear, its actually as quick as a stock rev2-3 tubby.

And I have had a rev3 tubby previous so can compare with some authority and up certain stretches of road its indeed quicker.

But alas not as quick as stripped out starlet with 275bhp.

Hi mate!

Hey, you car was not slow by any means, still went well! No replacement for displacement right? I'm sure it is fast up top. The white Starlet is probably running around 170hp and they are under 900kg.

I had a go with my mates E46 M3 the other week. Rolling start in 3rd and left him for dust, I was still pulling away in 5th! Not bad for a 1.3!

mrtee - It has only been in this form of tune for a few months. I have a remote switch to flick through low and high boost. Low boost is about 1bar, which is around 220hp. Grips fine from 2nd, sometimes spins higher up the rev's but a rolling start in 3rd is no problem. If it is a little damp thou it will spin in 4th gear. High boost is 1.4 bar

No QTR mile times yet, I am xxxx at launching! But I am going York on the 23rd, any guys off here going? I am in Huddersfield and a few of us are convoying up, see here:

Hi \:D/

Aye it does still go well enough for the road (on most occasions :) ). Unfortunately you kinda proved that displacement isn't everything, especially when a huge turbo is involved but not to worry 2 can play that game  .

Im hopefully building a mk1 supercharged v6 over the next year or 2 and ill try and keep that under 1000kgs.

Let me know how it does down the strip, would be nice to know how it compares to our mk2 turbo people.

I have run a 14.0 on the QTR before when I had less power, only been on once thou and I lack experience.

At the time, another guy I know was running the same power and ran a 13.0 dead.

With my power to weight ratio the car is capable of low 12's in theory, but it is not that easy!

I saw some MR2's at York last time I was there and they completely shot off the lines. Probs all the weight on the rear, which helps as they are RWD.

FF is hard to move when there is so much power.

Love Starlets!! Micra on drugs lol

I can imagine the amount of wheel spin you get trying to achieve any decent times on the pod though....crazy how you extracted more than 250 horses from a 1.3!!

Skywalker - Think I know the one mate. Exchanged with Mark down south yeah?

Antstarr - The engine is good for more mate, can get over 300hp no problems. The engine has no headwork and can easily wack a bigger turbo on, TD05 or something, but don't want lots of lag.

I'm pleased it's made your night mate.

I have said many times over if you want big power, go for a 3sg-te. I wanted something different and I'm sorry in your eyes it's not the perfect choice. I have been to numerous meets, with various monster cars and not one has slated the engine conversion. The only crap I get is from mr2 owners and it saddens me to a point where I consider selling the car, when I have put so much, time effort and money into!

I don't care what mr2 poeple have, they have spent time, effort and hard earned on their cars to make em the way they want em to look, drive, etc.
