apparent part number 4870917020

Mr T want £49 +vat!

slightly annoyed with myself over this as the one i need to replace was fine... case of not engaging brain - proceeced to dissasemble said part thinking (as i was doing my bushes that I would do this)... to replce with a polybush..

took apart - obvious this is not an item i had a bush for, as it 'was' (is the worst sense of the word) a sperical bearing.....

especially annoying as i freed up adjusters easily + rest of bushes replacement when fine..

Hi Si,
A bit surprised to see my name! I'm in the same position as you - kind of.

Firstly, I dug up a couple of relevant threads:
http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57392
http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=70117

As Jinxy said, I'm possibly having to buy another one for my sister's Mk1 as well... I got the same price quote from Mr T on Friday too...
I've been meaning to phone Fensport as they don't seem to have them on their site; they've only got the track rods... :(
TwosRUs is no joy for standard replacement either.

I removed mine on Saturday (yup, finally managed to make more progress to my Mk1):

Sasha's Mk1 is having an expert eye looking over it as I type, so I'm waiting to hear the outcome. I was planning on buying the TwosRUs uprated ones ( http://www.twosrus.co.uk/product_info.p ... cts_id=297 ) (because I'm a sucker for shiney things) but I'm not 100% sure if I'm definitely going to do this or not yet (mine are fine, bar the ball-joint, plus it helps maintain originality - plus I'm now skint again). If Sasha needs one, I'll probably end up buying the TwosRUs ones and giving her one of mine; in which case you can have the other. I'll know by this afternoon/evening. Otherwise, it's probably worth getting in touch with Jon at Sports Toyota Breakers ( http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/profile.ph ... ile&u=5455 ) to ask him if he has any. Or putting a post in the wanted section.
I'll keep you updated though...

McJinxy, Sasha's taken her time sorting out her car... :? I've given up chasing her up about it - I've got enough of my own problems to deal with... ;)

Guys

Try TCB performance parts. They are in the Mk1 club Mag.

www.tcbperformanceparts.co.uk

I just bought a heap of service parts and they offer a good service and the price was very good too. They migh be able to sort you out. I order parts on Monday after 5PM and arrived Wed 1st thing :thumleft:

I have a spare set that came off my car when the thing went into get the wheel alined last year. Luckly i had a good spare set that i took along as the others were solid.

Im going away to stick the jammed ones into a bucket of oil and get them freed off for next time cos i aint paying £100 for 2

Hope that helps

I bought the SBITS ones for £125. Very nice and shiny but can't say I notice any difference with handling. Wish I'd had more of a go at freeing the old ones off.

I once heard you can use the track road ends off a 1989 5 series BMW.

Hi guys...

I only just saw this thread. I made the decision to allow the mechanic to fix my baby. He is in the process of sorting it all out... It's not cheap mind, but I've got so many things going on at the moment and can't expect Max to sort everything out on my Mr2.

I think the repair will cost along the lines of £200, inclusive of parts and labour. ARGH!!

Cest la vie I guess. At least I'll be back in the driving seat again very very very soon. :D

Well, I just got a call saying the wrong parts were delivered. They now estimate the total cost to be £350. I'll have to raid the safe at work...

£350 !!!???  for what exactly ?? Sash find out what the cost is for, let me know, because if its just for fitting 2 track control arms i'll do it for you free of charge, all you need to do is supply the parts & i can do it sometime over the weekend, that sounds like an awful lot of money to me :-k , Jinxy

Bushes and ball joints apparently... turns out track control arms are okay...

Anyway, I'll PM you as this is going off-topic now...
