No this was only a couple of months ago virgin do a bt line broadband provider set up 17.99 a month for upto 8 meg I was getting as low as 36kbps  which is slower than when I used to be on dial up , I had massive problem with this I spent a fortune phoneing their premium rate lines just to speak to monkeys that ask if the pc is fooking on

They were being very naughty as they were moving me from server to server inc serevers half way round the world this was done to free up their busy times I read elseware online I think it was a forum called and I quote (virgin is cr@p) so I was paying 18quid for something that was as much use as a chocolate fireguard, now paying less with uninterupted service :thumleft:

Virgin man on fire in street I wouldnt even p1ss on him

Sky man on fire I would use my best hoodie  and even visit him in hospital

Will never EVER use virgin again for anything their customer support is a fooking joke

Sam I know a few other people that have virgin on cable but have not had problems also but they have big problems on their bt line side stuff , it was so annoying to be told that they wouldnt do anything unless I ran a speedtest on a particular site and I ran less than 400 kbps ,I was supposed to be getting upto 8 meg (more like 4mg) I tried to run that test dozens of times but I couldnt even load up the test as my connection kept on timeing out

maybe to do with them not having control over the lines if they were leasing them from BT.

or something like that anyway? i dont kno how it works exactly.

ive never had to ring them either so i cant say what there customer service has been like.

bak to the PS3. what with installing everything? whats the point in bluray if it has to do this everytime.

having said that tho. unreal is an awesome game!!

LOST jus took 6 mintues to install and every demo has to go through an install process.

the games you have played probably havent been any bigger than a normal DVD so havent needed too. it will probably be a more common occurence as time goes on.

the dashboard looks nice but i think i prefer the 360 one. having said that, the layout of the PSN store is much better than the 360 shops.

Because bluray access is slooooooooooooooooooow

They only have to install the 1st time you load them up (or an update is released) and once you've completed/got bored, Get rid.

Warhawk/Resistance/Motorstorm/Orange Box/Assassin's Creed all require installs but they're not too hefty. Pro Evo 2008 dumps over 2gig iirc which must be pretty much the entire game

LOST installed 3.5gb!

the graphics are pretty impressive. the foilage (sp?) looks great and the character models are top.

must be to do with that.

still, i think it kinda defeats the object of having 50gb discs if they cant be read fast enough to be utilised.

gonna have a proper play tonight. it was my girls b-day yesterday (hence playing lost) so i couldnt really sit down and have a decent session without here eyes burning into the back of me

Had mine 2 years and no ring of death. My first machine freezed a few times and I excercised my consumer rights and got a new unit. But then my PS2 froze alot and by all accounts the PS3 does as well, including my PC and my lap top ... xxxx happens they must all be xxxx?

No subscription fee for online pay.

But how many games can you play online? Warhawk?

the only way you can compare graphics is to have two identical tvs next to each other not looking on gametrailers
gametrailer videos are a pathetic excuse for a argument

Very sad people have done this and have confirmed as much, feck game trailers, game reviewers say the same and I am not even into the whole game scene and even I know as a lay man that this is the case.

i agree the xbox has got more games at the mo but it was released a year before so it will have but the theres going to be loads of more exclusives for the ps3 coming out HOME,ferrari challenge, haze, wipeout HD, gt5, metal gear solid, rfom2

For every one you can list there is another equally good 360 only title.

No not freezing but completly breaking down and having to send back to Microsoft as long as you have a warranty. Havent heard many faults on PS but loads on 360.

Theres quite a lot of online games except for the single player games like Devil May cry. Nearly 80% of all PS3 games have online compatibility.

As far as Im concerned graphics wise PS3 and 360 are pretty equal.

By the way PS has better beat em ups and racing games. Ive played all the racing games on 360 and it just doesnt feel the same. Halo isnt all that...but I play COD4 anyway.

how does the PS have better racing games?

GT5 isnt out this year and any other racer was multiplatform apart from motorstorm which is jus a pretty game. nothing special about the gamplay and F1 which is only played by about 2% of the gaming world.

forza is better than anything ive seen thats actually out.

and jus to back thai up a bit. how are gametrailers vids aload of crap?

they play the same game using the same connections on the same TV. they even play the exact same bit of the level or what have you.

i actually think thats the best comparison you can get.

i wasnt aiming this at thai by the way sorry mate
its just that to get the videos on the net they upload them so then there compressed and not fully accurate

GT5 isnt out this year

but prologue is with over 70 cars and 12 tracks full hd and 60fps and gran turismo tv for only 18 pound delivered it has more than most full priced games

the only time ive heard reviewers say about the differences in graphics is for ea games which have been ported so theres frame rate issues because ea want to merge with microsoft and they arent bothered about ps3 sales

Dude stop D-riding Thai lol

Im sorry if you have a 360 but it is the truth...I dont know why there are so many 360 fanboys thinking its actually a better console....its good and its great but the PS3 is better as much as it does cost a tad more.

GT5 Prologue is out. I played Forza....wasnt all that...Project Gotham wasnt the best either, graphics and gameplay were very basic. When GT5 does hit the scene, Forza wont even be any contest!

EVERYTIME you PS3 boys talk about comparing consoles you HAVE to bring up GT5, a game thats not even out yet and wont be for another year.

I've never liked the GT series. Think they're damn boring.

PS3 probally is a 'better' machine and its definately made better than the 360, but the 360 has FAR better games, cheaper games and far better online gaming, thats the only reason I have one over the PS3.

I concur with what he says :thumleft:

PS3 has ALOT of ground to catch up on and 1 or 2 games (that arent even out yet) wont do that.

Or PS3 fanboys insisting it isn’t!

Wow wee, half a game for £18 and even longer to wait for the full version. Who said MS were money grabbing, Sony are not stupid, they know all the mugs we rush out and buy GT5 prologue and then they will release the full game a few months after that for a full ticket price – Its like a shoe shop selling you the left shoe and the right shoe separately. They know you will buy both! So they exploit that to make double the money!

nothing much really to add to that. Anstarr makes me laugh trying to call me a fanboy when you blatantly are a sony fanboy. jus re-read your post

and yea half a game for £18. so are they gonna release the full thing for £18 too? surely they will since theyve already charged you for half? /sarcasm.

had a decent play on my ps3 today and its really not bad. the actuall features of the dashboard are great. jus need some more games now really and yes i kno, they are coming.
