[Mk2] [Generic] Whinning noise through speakers

I have been trying to solve this problem all day. When the engine is not running and i have the stereo on all is fine, but when i start the engine i get a whinning noise through the speakers that gets loader and changes tone when i turn the wheel. I have an after market head unit, amp and speakers, i have checked all connections especially the ground wires and all are ok. Any ideas?

are u running the power cables and rca's down the same side of the car mate cos its sound like interferance 2 me u need 2 run the power cable dwn a diffrent route 2 the rca's,

You're running cables too close to the power steering motor. I presume your amp is in the 'frunk' with the spare wheel?

The amp is under the passenger seat, and yes all the cables run together, i will seperate them tonight if i get a chance, thankyou.
