Exterior now complete - Stripping continues 17/04

Post by 2Crooky »

Well after much thought and a serious near selling episode, i have decided to keep my car and turn her into a track slag but still with some comforts for everyday motoring......

The departure 2 has gone in place for a Motoria full stainless exhaust  Ohh yeah the noise is back!!

She sits on Tein HA coilovers at present which will get a recon in the next few months.

Car has been given the all clear in a health check and is putting out 227bhp and 230 lb/ft torque from stock boost :) The frunk has been totally stripped, all sound deadening and carpet has been removed from behind the driver and passenger seats. Boot lining has also been pulled out.

To come:

Lightweight bucket seat for driver
Front and rear strut braces
Full poly bush kit
Rev 3 brakes with uprated pads and braided lines - complete
Link ECU - Not till mid-end summer
Carbon fibre hood
Carbon fibre bootlid
Carbon spoiler - rev 2 if it is available
Perspex windows
Underbracing
Rollcage
Rev3 front lip - complete

Started stripping her down today!!

How many exhausts (and wheels for that matter) do you get through?

Plans sound good, but why add skirts etc when you are going to such lengths to save weight else where.

Plan was to add skirts to bring the entire rolling chassis closer to the road......

It will be the last thing i do, if i decide to lol....

This is exhaust number 10/11 on car number 3 and wheel set number 3 for this car

I got the exhaust second hand off a member on here :D

They are pretty rare.......Worth asking Nightspirit(importer of jap parts) how easy they are to get hold of...Fully stainless and the build quality is better than most exhausts i have had!! (10 in total lol)

It is bl00dy loud and has an awesome tone to it!! Nice and deep.....But the best part is that motorway driving is fantastic!!! At 70-90mph the exhaust is at its quietest and there is no need to raise the voice for a convo with a passenger.

Spits flames and pops like a bastid too

Cheers mate 8)

To be honest, i've got sick of the whole "polish my ride till my nob falls off!!" I try and keep her clean but i'm just not gonna fart about with big bodykits or making sure every inch of her is spotless.....

The only thing i'm being an@l about is one of the buddy club P1's, its been subject to a disintegrated brake pad and baked the deposit onto the wheel surface :(

One thing that is gonna be spotless though is the engine bay!! I wanna take it to JAE looking as it does on the exterior, but then have a sexy ass engine bay  =P~

Day 1 on the engine bay......

Sounds like its gona be an interesting little project :thumleft:

To get rid of baked on brake deposits, mix:
.autoglym car shampoo
.autoglym intensive tar remover
.autoglym insect and bug remover
.megs wheel cleaner

Use a soft brush, you'll have it off in no time :thumleft:

That sounds like a sh1tload of money on cleaning products to then just mix together

I am not spraying any parts or going for mirror finish, just highly polished look so autosol and me toothbrush should do ok...

Does the toothbrush really work with autosol or was that a joke? I wanna get my engine bay shiny too

Tried brake dust cleaner before but that just gets the crap off.

There's no denying the fact that Kakimoto are a fantastic maker of exhaust. The welds and overall quality are very good. Unfortunately the flow rate of them is w4nk!! I've had an N1 on mine and recently had to replace it with the common as xxxx blitz nur spec as dyno testing showed some nasty home truths about the N1. I was gutted as the look and sound are amazing.

How is the flow rate of them w@nk????

How did you tell that from a dyno run??? Could have been a number of things restricting or keeping back flow....
