If its a new PSP (slim) then they can be a real pain to downgrade/upgrade to custom firmware. I dont think there are any cons to having custom firmware. I use 3.80 M33 on mine so it does every the sony 3.80 firmware does and also allows me to play iso's and game backups. :thumleft:

Is it a slim one? and what firmware does it have?

psp-hacks.com is a great site for info.

The new slim psp's can be modded but it will cost you as you need a pandoras battery and memory card, etc... it gets abit complicated but it is possible.

If its the older type, a fat psp then they can be modded real easy and wont cost you a thing aslong as the firmware is 3.03 or below, even easier if its 2.71 or below.

EDIT:It allows me to backup my games and run them from the memory card which saves battery life :thumleft:

My mate can mod the hell out of them. You need a big card tho. Ill find out if you are interested. He sticks all the snes and md and arcade and neogeo emulators on it plus you can `back up` your psp games on card.

Emulators! Emulators for everything!

I've got a GP2X... somewhere. I forget what I've done with it. I think Jen & I have FAR too many gadgets.
